@oakpearl, i like the way you record your trade to track performance. However, is it not stressful for you having to be writing every trade manually when you can use excel.

I will advice you develop a model that automates the recording with very very minimal input.

If you have a fundamentally sound stock, and they report a good result buy didnt beat earnings estimates, please resist the temptation of selling off especially if you bought for long term. These same herd mentality crew will return with higher bids.

Having said that, the following 3 stocks have every sign of beating estimates with their earnings date just a few days away.

Quite salient points you have raised. But I have this hypothesis that if a stock increases in value days to it's earnings call, it is usually not a good sign. If it drops, it is a good sign. Take APPL, TSLA and MSFT as examples. But you can never know with Mr Market

Sell within the first 30 minutes.

Studying patterns and movement with fundamentals to know which is maybe the top 3 or 5.
Earlier this year, before the recent focus on online education stocks, #ARCE ranked #1 on Zacks.
Says a lot about their fundamentals.
#CHGG has a great market sentiment and is doing great too.
Amazingly, education stocks are not as cheap as one would generally think.

But the difference between them and NIO is that they are currently profitable.

Nio posted a loss less than expected.
That may not have the impact these others who will exceed profit expectations will have.

I have NIO and am holding for long term.

But then most of the value had been priced in before the announcement.
And then Mr. Market dey one side dey do him own.
That's why identifying a fundamentally sound stock is a safe route especially for long term stocks.
If na short term play, na to cut your losses and move on based on what the charts are saying.

It's for the long haul so not concerned about selling unless something drastic or a juicy opportunity pops up and no cash to capitalise on.

I keep it simple, i trade with a childlike exuberance, however I'm very aware of risk.

Fundamentals isn't of much importance to me unless I'm swinging a stock.

My max trading time is 30 minutes, i use huge capital for tiny movements. The Idea is that the longer you spend holding a stock the higher the chances of something going wrong.

So far here's my scalping returns for today . I'm not done yet.

Yeah it's expected. It's done 3000%YTD. Keep monitoring till it's dippest dip then jump in(Buy a sizeable lot today. I think it's also just reacting to the Russia vaccine news). Value investors who have been sitting on the sidelines will now jump in.
