If you are a Redmi note 8 pro user and don't have the MIUI 12 update. I can help you on where to download and how to install without root or computer or even twrp. You can install manually and I have been running that without issues for over 2 weeks now...

He uses RN8. to get full recovery ROM is not that hard.

you can download on this link. It's about 2gb... https://piunikaweb.com/2020/08/11/xiaomi-redmi-note-8-pro-miui-12-global-stable-update-rolling-out-download-link-inside/. Then you go to system update and tap on the MIUI update 5 - 10 times, then click on the 3 dot and click on choose update package and install.

REDMI NOTE 8 PRO USERS

If you can't wait for MIUI 12 OTA and feel like side-loading. Below are links to your full Recovery ROM depending on which Global ROM is on your device.

Global ROM (MIXM)
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.0.2.0.QGGMIXM/miui_BEGONIAGlobal_V12.0.2.0.QGGMIXM_d7ccad5950_10.0.zip

EU/EEA ROM (EUXM)
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V11.0.3.0.QGGEUXM/miui_BEGONIAEEAGlobal_V11.0.3.0.QGGEUXM_c0509355af_10.0.zip

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Disclaimer: If you know your phone came with a shop ROM, Moya look away, I won't be held accountable for whatever happens.

for other devices you can check for updates for your Xiaomi devices and do the same. Mind you download from the global version if yours is released except you are using Chinese rom or any other version. https://piunikaweb.com/2020/08/12/xiaomi-miui-12-update-tracker/ that's the link

Uninstall updates of your system launcher. You should also try a force Restart (Hold power button for 15secs) first

We will get MIUI 12. We have started getting updates to some system apps in preparation for that.

As for the Charger exactly same thing happened to mine last week, I don't know what exactly to blame for it, though we have been have fluctuating currents. Got a replacement Floveme from oga Jboixxx.

1. Advice you sell it without nearing an outlet, they will undervalue the phone.

2. Post a Screenshot of your about phone.

My friend's S10+ hasn't received the Android 10 update yet and he doesn't run to Samsung boards to complain about it.
You're right about there being no seniority in updates

About your friends S10 + I think there's a problem and he probably should have a chat with Samsung's customer care to push an update for his device.

No one forced you to buying your current phone, if it is it serving you might as well move on. All this whining on NL won't bring the update to your doorstep today.

Whatever makes you sleep well at night.

Everyone that talks up to you is an agent, such myopic level of reasoning.

I'll tell him to try that. I even asked him to switch regions to see if an update pops up but that didn't happen. Do you think a tweet will be effective or a direct email to their Africa desk?
