No one is forced to watch BB naija, no one is compelled to watch it. On DSTV, depending on what bouquet you can afford, there are over 200 stations and you are free to watch anyone.

How is it that a show that isnt forced down anyones throat is generating so much fuss!!! I remember when Nigera was to host a Miss World contest after Agbani won and muslims went berserk in abuja saying it was haram as if they were forcing anyone to attend it

1. 170 million BBNaija votes do not translate to 170 milion voters. For instance, an individual viewer has 100 free votes every week (i.e about 700 votes throughout the session at no cost). DStv also gives free votes to subscribers. You can have as much as 5000 free votes if you are on Compact+ plan.

2. Replace BBNaija with Big Nigeria whatever and lose 95% of viewers. Personally, I won't spend a second of my time listening to discussions about Tafawa Balewa. The new reality TV would have to hustle for viewers. You can't force your programme down anyone's throat. It is not by force.

There are channels on the same DStv I don't watch, some I will never watch and that includes NTA and any recommendation regarding Nigeria history and bla bla. It is not by force.

3. Oni should know better that you can come up with your programme and sort out your viewers without scrapping another. Is this supposed to be a war?


5. Lastly, BBNaija is just a form of entertainment to many viewers. Admittedly, it could become an addiction, like football, like Bayern's victory last night, like Africa Magic movies, like music, like the other 400+ channels on DStv, etc.

Ooni should realize that this country has offered nothing to the youth, and they are rather on their own. That is why entertainment takes the heart of helpless Nigerian youths. We claim to be a democratic state , yet , every single election , even at the grassroot level, is always disrupted by violence.

We also claim to be a secular nation, yet , those who inhabit the upper map of this country are pushing for a state governed by the dictates of Sharia while those in the South would not hesitate to hinder the freedom of their fellow citizens to watch the show which supports our economy.

We claim to be a capitalist nation whose economy should be dependent on the forces of demand and supply , yet, the government fixes prices of most goods and pursue investors who seek to provide better quality whom they sacrifice at the expense of their friends who would survive in no developed country other than those of Sub-saharan Africa.

I have always advocated for the change of ideology (which we do not even have) than change of leaders. Take every one in Lagos(Nigeria) to Oslo (Norway) or Tokyo (Japan) and bring people there down to Nigeria and watch Nigeria be like Norway and Japan.

Build what ever infrastructure you want, Nigerians will urinate and dump refuse in gutters and drainage systems . They will steal fuel from transformers that provide light in their area and kill each other in an election day. Look at the NBA election and the NMA election in Enugu which where characterized by conflict and violence respectively and you'll agree it's not even education that is the problem

Norwegians , Swedish citizens, Swiss people, Danish Men, British women etc have more nude reality shows (Naked Attraction in UK is one of them) but they can maintain a long queue and wait to vote on an election morning without the presence of a security official and there will be no noise or violence.
