gaskiyamagana: It seems you don't understand Scripture and where to use it, goan read 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV:How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. ESV:“How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into a lie. NIV:“‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? AMP:How can you say, We are wise, and we have the written law of the Lord [and are learned in its language and teachings]? Behold, the truth is, the lying pen of the scribes has made of the law a falsehood (a mere code of ceremonial observances) Actually what this Bible passage meanz iz the Bible said the the law Lord should be in our hearts, inscribed there and if it's in ooi our heart then the scribber are doing no good because people will read for ceremonies sake not for meditating. So bro the Bible is use for reproof in II Tim 3:16 says KJV:All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ESV:All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, NIV:All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, AMP:Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitablebu for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So I know what Am talking about bro |

slickbak:Please what's your definition of halfwits? Can you show me how monotheistic religion (say Christianity) "...makes us a subservient pool for further westernization..."? What is your definition of Oyibo, what part of the world are you referring too? These question maybe funny but I don't want to assume for you before asking the next questions. It has been said that the best way of faulting a logic is by asking questions, so pardon my questions and please sincerely answer them. Thank you |

9jah: I can't stop laughing. I actually was interested in what you want to pass across because I saw a lengthy post but started laughing after the second sentence. Your claims are so funny that I know I shouldn't address them. Again, your 'research' is poorly written. So much for one who claimed that we should read it or "...end up been mentally enslaved, myopic and can’t reason for yourself". How do you want me to agree with what you wrote when you can't even cite any reference to verify your statements Then, I'll advise you read about Heackel's fraudulent drawings 1 Like |

9jah: My question is as enlightened as you are what have you done differently to better yourself? Show me how you have become better than the average Christian and also many of the multi-dollar rich Christians who don't get their money from tithes and co. You want to sound enlightened fine. Now prove that you're with deeds and what you have achieved differently. Most times it pays to just respect peoples religious views even if you don't believe the same thing. I have seen athiest and christians who are best of friends, who also collabo in business and other social stuff. Should I even mention how Muslim and Christians have collabo in different spaces effectively. A truely enlightened someone will know life is not hard. We are the ones making it hard for ourselves. Just because I believe in fairytales or whatnot doesn't mean you are better than me. There are many Christians, hindu, Muslims and the rest who command respect and can get into places you can only dream to get in. Not because of their beliefs but because of their achievements. See as enlightened as athiest are there are still Christians and Muslims who are better than them financially and intellectually. The point dey your dey make others dey der dey. All these negativity on top something you don't believe in is unnecessary. You can talk from now till next year you still won't convince a religious person to change so why stress? A wise man once said there are no winners in arguments. I recommend you read 48 laws of power so you can understand human nature a little bit more. All these negativity won't change anything, your just making yourself worked up over nothing. In my own opinion an athiest has no reason to open a religious topic except they are curious or a religious athiest. Same way a Christian shouldn't be jumping into Muslim threads and vice versa. You don't believe in anything there so why enter? Just respect that you don't believe the same thing and let them have their space. Because engaging them won't change anything. This is too long already, I really hope you discern my point in the end. Have a great day. |

jikins: Lol, as usual. You cry fowl when an atheist speaks up. No, you don't want to hear it. They're imposing their non-belief on you. But nobody complains when Christians do worse. It's not about who's more successful or not. It's dumb to even make that comparison. There are many theists and atheists who are successful or not. And no one said Christians can't be successful. The problem is that, this whole belief system is affecting us as a whole. The whole nation. While we're suffering in the hands of our government, religion is even doing more harm. 1 Like |

kingxsamz: There's nothing dumb about my comparison oga learn to discern things before jumping all over to conclude. Did I say athiest aren't successful? The point is your not better than anyone. Its their belief respect it. So what's the point of all of these discussions? Have you been able to make any significant headway? How has these discussions changed the country for the better? Religion has problems certainly but how has jumping from thread to thread change anything? So again I ask why stress? |

jikins: No, what's dumb is you bringing the comparison of wealth or success. No one is talking about who's more successful here, but you still brought it up. So what's the point of all of these discussions? Have you been able to make any significant headway? How has these discussions changed the country for the better? Religion has problems certainly but how has jumping from thread to thread change anything? So again I ask why stress? You too ask yourself. Why are you really bothered when people talk about religion? Why does it trouble you? When you complain, does it work? Does it end the argument or conflict? You should take your own advice and chill since life's not hard. And stop complaining about people criticizing your beliefs. Smh. |

FlipModeSquade: I don't know what you want to refer to as 'inconsistent fallacies'. But a good study of the bible shows that it is more coherent for a book that was written by about 40 authors of different works of life and over a period of 1000 years. The problem we have is that folks are one sided which the Bible itself disagree with. Many ONLY read about inconsistencies and wouldn't care to see if those have been addressed. This is exactly what makes the Bible strong. Many criticize it because it contains stories of miraculous acts but denying that miracle happens is denying an obvious truth. How are the miracles (improbable events) in the bible worse than the following 'miracles': 1. There was NOTHING; no time, matter and energy, yet NOTHING exploded and produced time, matter, energy and the laws which govern them 2. At a point in time, lifeless chemicals assembled themselves and create code for how they should operate; making the most sophisticated 'machinery' ever known - the so called first cell 3. These chemicals miraculously produced mind and intellect, language and so on. A child story book should not be able to accurately and constantly predict events A child story book should not have the ability to change hard line criminals to saints I don't know how you come to your conclusion about the Bible but I would suggest you study it with a clear conscience and an open mind. You should be able to see clearly that it is not what you think about it. Peace be unto you 1 Like |

kingxsamz: For someone who is so wise and yet you can't discern simple things. Didn't you hear the words the point? Those comparison weren't made in isolation. I am sorry they are hurting you so much for some reason but they were made with a point in mind which was you are not better than anyone because of their beliefs. You keep looking down at people because you feel they believe in fairy tales and what not. I made that comparison because its easy to understand in this country. Just look at your response of dumb. You refuse to critically analyse something and just assume someone is dumb because of your belief that I am religious which I never said I was. Come on I expect more than this. Ok now to your questions 1. Not border when people talk about religion. I'd say you are. 2. Again it doesn't trouble me. What troubles me is when you demean others and fail to respect one of the basic human rights which when people choose to exercise you look down on them and call them delusional, as if their beliefs is all they will ever be. Again its simple just as I respect your beliefs as an athiest and don't try to change you and I don't look down on you for it, I only ask you do the same to others. Why is this hard to comprehend? 3. I don't complain alot actually most times I mind my business. But this is getting too rampant. Why is it so hard to just respect the fact that not everyone will believe the same things as you? 4. Does it work? Well I don't know you tell me has it worked on you. Lol sorry my response are hitting you some kinda way but the truth hurts. This is all totally unnecessary. Now I asked you some questions above please do me the same courtesy as to actually responding to them. Thank you Modified: Just look down to the guy that I replied. Thats what I mean. You can have educated discussions about religion no qualms but to start belittling people is what I don't stand with. |

jikins: Hitting what? I don't care about the dumb comparison you made. I'm only pointing out that it's stupid to bring that up in an argument as if that's the concentration of the argument. It's something that's expected of a child. "You're arguing with me, are you better than me"? "Does your parents have money more than my mummy and Daddy"? That's exactly how you sound. And your very smart brain failed to realize that this thread is not a religious thread, but your brethrens have turned it into something else. But you're here wasting your "precious time" quoting me who's going about schooling these folks. Most of them didn't even read the article before dumping their usual religious mumbo jumbo. If you aren't bothered about people criticizing religion, then why are you here writing an epistle just to explain that? Nawa o.... Like you're trying so hard to be heard. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Like I said, take your advice and chill since life isn't that serious. And just so you know, atheism isn't a belief system. At least you learnt something today. |
