Reminiscent time ........

Let's take you down memory lane,,
Especially those that weren't born back then.
Enjoy.........

Following the 1983 military coup d'état, General Babangida (then Chief of Army Staff) started scheming to overthrow military head of state General Muhammadu Buhari.
Exploiting his closeness with allies: Sani Abacha, Aliyu Gusau, Halilu Akilu, Mamman Vatsa, Gado Nasko, and younger officers from his days as an instructor in the military academy (graduates of the NDA's Regular Course 3), he strategically positioned his allies and gradually within the military hierarchy.

The execution of the coup was initially delayed due to General Tunde Idiagbon the 6th Chief of Staff,
Supreme Headquarters and ruthless second-in-command to General Muhammadu Buhari.
On 27 August 1985, General Babangida and his co-conspirators orchestrated the palace coup with four Majors: Sambo Dasuki, Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, Lawan Gwadabe, and Abdulmumini Aminu detailed to arrest the head of state.
In a speech, General Babangida justified the coup describing General Muhammadu Buhari's military regime as "too rigid".

And this took back the progress of Nigeria 60 years!
One day, we will get there as a nation.

There was a country!!

I don't know why I just don't like him n almost all those ex generals. Na dem scatter Nigeria.

This man set Nigeria on its downward spiral in 1986 when he took the IMF loan with Kalu Idika Kalu as the finance minister then.

The naira lost its value there and then against the dollar and never recovered till today.

No sane person should wish him happy anything.

Not that he was corrupt,
Not that he was doing any wrong thing.
But just that he was so bent to enforce discipline in all sphere of our nation,
Along with Tunde Idiagbon,
Just that he arrested some politicians that started looting in this nation and lock them behind bars.

And this took back the progress of Nigeria 60 years!

The idiot made Nigeria a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

He also had his best friend court-martialled and executed in a rushed trial. His family still cries for justice.

You wrote all this story just to justify your darling daddy in Aso rock?

Anyways, Babangida did well with some of his programmes but marred it with corruption and the annulment of June 12 elections.

You've said it all!
We can only continue to remain positive about our darling nation.
ONE day, We will get there as a nation.
The foundation has been destroyed.

What do kids know?

Thank you for laundering the image of your darling daddy as a shinny saint Mr. Felix. My prayers for you and your children and generations unborn are, may it be to you as Buhari did to Nigeria and Nigerians he disliked for ethno-religious reasons. I say Amen to this prayer for and on behalf of you, your children and lineage...

Courtsey: From all of us at the side of unrelenting truth.

(for your information, i just drop my comments here and never bother to check mentions and replies. Too busy for that nonsense. So what ever you say has no efficacy, i have dropped my darling blessings for you & your lineage, nothing changes that! Enjoy sir!!!)

I greet IBB at 70. As a human being and as an head of Government, everybody has is own bad sides like IBB too. But even till today, IBB can still refers to as one of the best president that Nigeria ever had. We can't forget in a hurry the kinds of numerous programs the administration introduce to Nigeria both economically, educationally and politically.

It the 6334 systems of education his administration introduce that is is in Vogue till today ?.

It is Federal University of Agriculture he established into the Nigeria educational system ?.

It is Federal University of Technology he established ?.

It is Technical & Vocational educational system he introduced then that other regimes neglected we wanted to talk about ?.

Politically:

It is 2 party system he introduced into Nigeria political life which would have unites Nigeria governance system and Nigeria multi religious, multi ethnic system. i.e. SDP, NRC.

Building of two party secretariats of each political parties in the 774 local government of Nigeria.

But annulment of the most freest elections in Nigeria.

Economically:

SAP, STFEM, MAMSER, DFRI, Community Banks, People's Banks, FRSC, NDE just to mention a few .

Happy birthday General IBB at 79.

Like Abacha

Not likely.

He and his family must have learnt from Abacha's and worked on their tracks.

Remember, Abacha's death was just too sudden.
