I just commenced a 4 months Software Engineering course at STUTERN Sha! I'll be learning JavaScript ( MERN STACK ) and my main aim is to either relocate to Europe with my skill or to work for a foreign Company while I stay in Nigeria and earn in foreign currency!!....it's more like a 4yr plan for me cos I still don't know how possible it will be for a Software Engineer ( after I graduate ) who is fresh out of training to get a foreign/relocation job

Costa Rica has the Rentista visa which allows nomads to stay in the country for up to two years with the option to extend after. Much like Bermuda, this visa was set up as a smaller investment programme for the country. To qualify, you need proof of a minimum of $2,500 (around R42,000) per month in steady income.

Following the remote work boom, Barbados has announced a 12-month working holiday visa which allows visitors to work remotely from the island. The visa costs $2,000 for individuals, and $3,000 for families.

The Self Employment Visa that Spain offers is a great choice for digital nomads who are self employed – and it is pretty common for digital nomads to be self employed freelancers! Like the previously mentioned visas, this one will grant you up to a year’s stay. When applying, you will need to prove you have sufficient funds to “establish and maintain employment indefinitely” and you’ll have to pass a background check.

Those wishing to live in Portugal as digital nomads can apply for a D7 Passive Income visa, which resembles a lot to the Costa Rican Rentista visa.

The main requirement is that you must show proof of sufficient income, and where that money comes from. You can stay in Portugal for a year with this visa, and then extend it two years at a time. After five years in Portugal with a D7 Passive Income visa, you can apply for a residence permit, under the condition of passing an exam on Portuguese language knowledge.

If you are looking forward to relocate abroad, the best option I think will be to get a job with a company abroad which offers relocation too. Here are some websites or job boards that publish regular jobs with relocation.

2. Github jobs section
3. Codepen.io jobs section
4. Indeed
5. Glassdoor.

A notable mention is an app called WeJappa. Google the app and download it, they post goods it/programming jobs and some offer relocation. Recently a back-end developer I know got a job via the app with relocation and housing in Rwanda.

How do one calculate his work experience if he hasn't been employed before? Maybe he is just a freelancer without being under a firm.

I’d count it as < 1 year work experience

However, I think being being able to show that you’ve worked on projects and demonstrating sufficient knowledge in your field suffices suffices.
