The emiratees are oil producers like us....they don't even levy income tax on on its citizens weda rich or poor.......

In abroad you can't have live in house help, you can't have a gate man. You can't have a washer man, all these domestic staff are not easy come by. But in Nigeria you csn have as much as you want and still maltreat them.

Their presence in the country is obviously the source of their wealth.

Dangote, Otedola and many oil CEOs can’t handle their affairs from outside the country. Their Nigerian managers will run down their businesses. Glo would have long closed shop if Adenuga decided to run things from the USA. Ordinary supermarkets, the cashiers and attenders always steal, talk less of a company run by a CEO without a physical presence.

You can't be far away from your source of income

The answer is simple. They can't get the level of respect and worship they get in Nigeria when they reside abroad. Secondly, their source of wealth will be questioned.

Abroad is a leveler of men, nobody send anybody. No special interest or recognition, no police or army following you around carrying your bag and umbrella for you cos you are a big man,everybody has 24/7 light, everybody has water rushing in their homes, everybody enjoys good roads, everybody can afford to travel to other countries because of their passport if they can afford a flight ticket not because they have billions in the bank to show the embassy etc.

So at the end, the gap between the rich and poor is narrow so nobody is going to become a slave to another person because they are rich in abroad.

So if you are a Nigerian big man, you don't want to live in a place where you become an ordinary person, you will rather want to live in a place where your wealth can make you a "god" in the eyes of the people and you can use them and the system to your advantage. In Nigeria, if you are rich, the police, judiciary,pastors etc will do your bidding, in abroad, nobody cares.

But then, don't forget that despite that, most still have properties abroad and their children also have one leg abroad through citizenship or residency incase of incasity Don't let them fool you, they are WISE

Go to estates in ikoyi, Lekki, VGC. You will hardly see children or young people of the owners. Their kids are mostly abroad. Many of the rich in Nigeria spend time abroad but you won’t notice. Dangote, Otedola and the likes are always going from one country to another. Even the former first lady Mrs Buhari relocated to Dubia, Atiku stays in Dubia also .

Also to make money in Nigeria you need connections for contracts and concessions, many of them can’t get it abroad so they maintain a base here and send their families abroad.

I understand your point but I don't think you understand what he @OP is asking. I don't think the OP meant the ultra wealthy like billionaires. I don't think anyone expects the likes of Dangote to migrate and officially reside abroad, it doesn't make sense.

It is not possible to easily evade justice abroad. Deputy Senate President Ike Ekeremadu is in prison. There source of wealth must be known and you pay taxes on everything

If u av money going abroad won't be important to u cos they won't deny u visa when u show them ur acct balance and u show u av valuable companies here in Nigeria u can even afford to go as per HNWI High networth individuals and besides there is a lot of money to be made in nigeria here with little stress. My landlord as a student has over 700 buildings in nigeria shopping malls and even bank buildings where they pay him rent wetin that kind person dey find abroad..so make him sell 700 houses..hotels..petrol stations...shopping mall becos him want relocate..he fit travel go ibiza or santorini spend 1 month return back he go be like say he go village..na ppl wey save 2months to 2 years salary sell family land sell household items sell car dey run go abroad sef cos them no fit even pay 3 months rent abroad if them no hustle immediately dem land

Quick question boss, what’s the easiest way a person on tier 2 dependent visa can detach from his or her host. A friend of mine’s came in on a visa and since they came in they’ve been having issues and he’s afraid that she might do something that may cause him to leave the country just to prove a point.

Are there options he could explore? He’s thinking of applying for a masters program, do you think it could help me. Thanks

Guy, first of all, you are not rich so relax. There is no where in my post that shows envy for the rich except you mean envy for lawlessness which is a privilege for Nigerians rich class.

This is one of the most important reasons they remain in Nigeria, or at least maintain a steady presence here.
