Onitsha Port Is Also Functional. by Exegesis19(op): 10:35am On Aug 17, 2020
Maserk announced in January this year that they will offering direct service to Onne port without stopping at any port in Lagos. The stoppage at Lagos has been the cause in increase of freight experienced by people who patronize Onne port. In March Maserk berthed their first direct shipment from Asia to Onne. Some of this consignment were allocated to Clarion Terminal Onitsha, by means of barge which was cleared at the Onitsha port. On Maserk website you can choose Onitsha as the destination for your goods.

Beautiful.
All the lies of wasted media are being debunked one by one.
First to be debunked was that onne shores were too shallow.
Second was insecurity in Niger Delta coast.
Third now is that Eastern region is landlocked

Nice one. Anything to decongest Apapa Tincan wharf is a welcomed development...

Unlike before receiving your consignment at Onne is no longer as expensive as it used to be. People think using Onne port is deliberately made expensive by the government but it is just an issue of freight. Before now ships used to berth in Lagos before proceeding to Onne. But with Maserk direct shipment to Onne without stopping in Lagos the freight charges is even better than Lagos. With the barges bringing the containers to Onitsha port makes everything cheaper.

Wow, this is an amazing news!
Common guys, let's use Onitsha port for our imports and Enugu airport for our international travels once it's completed.

Once these two vital infrastructures become fully functional, then we can successfully implement our move away from over reliance on Lagos.

The only reason I'm supporting an Igbo president is for him to at least dredge the River Niger and truly make AIIA Enugu fully standardized.

Fighting for Biafra and fighting for Igbo presidency shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

When Anambra arise with their insecurity and stealing, we will know what will happen next, although it is a good development, Lagos is jam-packed and needed to be decongested

If your father is not shameles you will be castigating PDP for not being able to bring about this changes while the APC you hate with passion is the one making it happen.

Shameless pig.

Every information is correct apart from the bolded.
The containers are trucked from Onne to Onitsha, not by barge.

You can decide to barge or truck your container. I know someone whose own was barged and he cleared it at Clarion terminal Onitsha, and trucked it to his warehouse.

You cannot decide to barge because there are no barge services available.
You can only truck from Onne.
