Hello Fratermathy,

IF "A" or "ANY" decision has been made prior before a final decision, a request for withdrawal won't be acknowledged.

One love

Alright. That's noted then.

Would love the house to clarify this

It seems as per travel restrictions, only those who got Approval before March 18th and their program has on-campus learning are allowed to come to Canada presently together with their Travel support letter from the school

I got a mail from my Int'l director as regards resumption for Fall 2020 students that have Paid their tuition,

So one of his paragraph captured my attention

He said:

If you have applied for the Visa and have not received any decision as yet, you need to wait till September 15 for AIP (Stage One Visa Approval) to be issued. If you receive an AIP by September 15, you need to then register immediately and start your program online as we are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue Stage Two Final Visa Approval. If you DO NOT receive any decision by September 15, you need to defer your intake to January 2021.

Though my program is a strictly On-Campus program and has only a FALL Intake.

Does that mean that a proof of registration is a Criteria to get the Stage 2 final VISA approval?

Am also thinking, whether IRCC have told told all schools about the AIP and steps to take as regards that (reason is cos AIP is not assurance of getting approved)

&

He said We are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue State Two Final Visa Approval
Cos this seem like an assumption to me (We are EXPECTING)

What's your take on this?

THANKS!!!

Hello Lekiboboe,

Everybody is in limbo in regards to the current processing style adopted by IRCC with no exemption to the student advisors for international students.

I am not so certain on the accuracy of the predictions about the new style. I strongly doubt if IRCC would disclose such privy information to schools.

Let's just receive the advise as a speculation with a touch of fact. In my opinion, I don't really think IRCC would ask for a proof of registeration. However, its safe to always enquire from IRCC directly. Who knows the kind of response they may give.

my own has been like that for about three months now.

Hello NwanyiOkpa,

It will be of good interest towards your application if you're able to get hold of your GCMS notes. This way, you will have an idea of the stage or activities going on with your application.

My recent comment was specific for only that poster. Situations differ.

Yes, getting a second program is very easy, you can even change schools.

One thing I have realized is, sometimes, having 2 certificates from 2 different programs gives you options.

For example, first 8 months program, you study Logistics and Supply chain management and then you go for a second program, another 8 months, in Business Analysis. When you graduate, you can search for jobs in 2 different fields, which gives you better chances in the job market.

It simply means you can look for jobs in Logistics, supply chain, transportation, supply chain analyst roles, business analyst, business architect, business intelligence, Agile and Scrum roles, data analyst, even project management roles (Business analysis and project management are similar) and so forth.

You can see the multitude of options studying 2 different programs has availed you. It also gives you an opportunity to specialize in a specific industry/field while also having broad knowledge in some other fields.

Also, people take 2 programs so that it avails them the opportunity to switch to another sector. Coming to Canada, career progression is important but when you are inside Canada, that does not count.

I have been in Canada for more than 20 months and I have seen people switch between programs that are not similar inside Canada without problems. As a matter of fact, this happens a lot in colleges. Na normal level for colleges. Reason why I always say, when people get to Canada, they will get clarity

The only challenge is, you will need to apply for another study permit while inside Canada.

Also, there is a myth that Visa officers rarely give people 1 year visa from Nigeria to Canada. I have seen people get 1 year visa's, I am only bringing your attention to what people say.

Just think about your long term goals and be strategic. I wish you all the best.

thank you so much for this break down. I am grateful

@Naijaforeigner hello i just got an admission into Fanshawe college and I went to the bank to make payment by filling the Form A document in other to make payment with the CBN rate, but my request was denied on the basis that CBN has stopped making payments through third parties to any school. pls how can I go about this as I have less than 8 days to make payment else my admission will be annulled.

Flywire. Their rates could be a bit on the high side but I think that's the only option you have right now.

It’s a very straightforward process. If you have any friend or family member that’s a PR or citizen they can apply for you. Just give them the details of your application. It costs $5. There are also those who do it commercially but I want to believe it will cost significantly more than the official $5.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Luckymama: 9:33pm On Aug 19, 2020
AIP update. Received AIP yesterday. From the letter I received I would feel that AIP is truly almost 70 to 80% guarantee of a positive result.

Nevertheless I still plan to defer my admission if I don’t get a complete approval before Sept 15. For me, my school will not give me a refund if I start the program and eventually do not get the study permit.

TIMELINE:
2nd application.
Date: June 27.
Biometrics already done.
Upfront medical updated to pass on the 7th of July.
AIP received on 18th of August.

I had a friend who helped fill the forms while I paid with my MasterCard. Maybe any of the seniors of this thread who are already in Canada May be able to help.

1. Admission letter
2. Resume
3. SOP.
4. Evidence of my personal business (CAC documents, particulars of directors bank account)
5. Personal Bank account. Sponsor had already paid in 14m into my account. Fees for the entire program was about 6m. I even thought the money was way too much.
6. Sponsors personal bank accounts of about 50m.
Sponsor is a business man. Submitted his own company’s incorporation documents and company account.
7. Sponsors letter of sponsorship explaining his finances and why he set aside that amount of money for my schooling (My business is actually a family run business and he is a partner so we tried to show how my degree will help move the business to a bigger playing field). I even added proposal to show how we plan to recoup the money spent on the degree in about 6 years.
8. Passport showing previous travel history.

mehn, I love your simple application.

see ehn! I am even happier than you that got the AIP cheesy grin cheesy grin
