Yes you're right. I should've tested it before buying but I would never have thought it would have such issue. Someone suggested to take it to Xiaomi Office at Ikeja. I'll do that. I don't know if a factory reset would fix the problem. That's the only thing I'm yet to do. Although the person I got it from did a factory reset before giving it to me. Thanks so much for your suggestions.

Bros, sorry for bringing an entirely different opinion on your matter, if I were to believe you I would say it can't be a hardware issue because it should not reflect on your output (photo). it could be software issue. but let me ask you something cause I am a bit confused at these taken pictures.
Why are the lines in the two photos of entirely different patterns? is it that the lines are being drawn as the picture is taken or you are pulling our legs? left to me, this is a very impossible situation. But as I said, if it is true, then it should be a software issue, there may be an activity that is going on underground to produce those lines. Just hope the phone ain't virus infected. Because those lines look like the lines used in photo editing. It's not even regular and looks like it's drawn by someone. or is there any spyware on your phone? that's my take on your matter. Thank you.

Check your camera lens for scratches or dirt, and wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.

Your questions have jumped into a wrong conclusion. First hardware can affect picture, if the lens are scratched, dirty or a screen guard obstruction. Secondly the lines are exactly the same but he used photo editing to mark the lines because of people like you who don't observe and jump into conclusions.

no problem, when you see something to be corrected sometimes you need to be harsh in trying to correct it, and I am trying to learn to accept my wrongs, I saw my wrongs and I had to acknowledge it, for that is a very useful thing to do and we all need to learn to do just that if we must make it to heaven

You definitely know what you're talking about. I also think it's a software issue.. Those two lines appear on the front Camera. Even when I make a video or take a picture with the front camera they are always on it. And the circles I drew around the lines is just to indicate the lines. The person I got it from says the next MIUI 12 update would fix it. So I'm waiting till Xiaomi rolls out an update so I can update it and see if the issue would go away. Thanks so much for replying.

I think if it only affects the front camera and not the back, then there's every tendency that it's the hardware. Change the camera lens. Infact, go to Calcare or any other good place, I'm sure they will troubleshoot it for you.

I'm waiting for a new software. This is the exact thing the person I got it from told me. Says it's most likely a software bug. I already tried clearing camera cache, but it didn't work. So I'm trying to wait it Xiaomi would roll out a new update this week or next before I return it back. Thanks for the suggestion!

What direction does the line on the camera display ?

This shows the cause was as a result of the camera going up and down frequently and the scratch of the glass covering the camera..
Fix one try to clean the front camera
Fix 2 replace the outer glass of the camera.....
To confirm what I just said zoom until you don't see those lines and take a picture u won't see the lines

Where are you at? Or do you have someone who can look into it? Also, it's not a pop up camera. It's a MI Note 10 Pro.

Goto camera force stop and clear cache
Try let's see what's up

I think you should try to reset camera to default settings..
Click on camera enter camera settings
Scroll down and click reset
