2$ is commission for buying which is Chaka s money
Another 2$ is commission for selling.. Chaka s money too

So total for buying and selling is 4$

However if you buy a stock that sells more than 200$, that commission is going to be 1%. That is if you buy a stock of 300$... you pay 3$ ommission.
A stock of 400$...you pay 4$ commission
A stock of 500$..you pay 5$ commission.... ainsi de suite...etc

Chaka's commission is too expensive
I want to experiment on InvestBamboo and Riseinvestments.

All these apps are good for short term trading but can we trust them for the long run..

I'm looking for apps/company where i can buy stocks and hold it for the long term (> 5 years).

I don't know if I can trust bamboo with that

The stocks are not lying on their servers. and their servers do not have any link with it. They are just a third-party for known investment brokers both internationally and locally.

Your stock remains your stock even if these businesses close

So is there information on how we can reclaim our stocks if they close down?

They all have plans for that. I use chaka.ng and had to ask their customer care about it. So, I am sure of that. I am a long-term trader. I buy and keep for long

True but don't they have access to your password? What if they decide to go rogue on you? Some years ago certain known stockbrocker names on the NSE were banned from trading on the Exchange because they sold clients shares without authorization and stole the money!! All things considered, the Fintechs are good because they make it easy to acquire Forex and remove some of the bottlenecks associated with these offshore stockbrokers.

they don't even need your password to sell it since its not stored on their server. I guess we're just trusting them not to do so.

I funded my account through online transfer,in `narration` i input my ID[chaka gives it to you] and my name too. i did this transfer before 9:30am. Before 12noon,it reflected in my account. Then i moved fast to the funding page...click on `EXCHANGE`.the interface for changing from naira to dollar or vice versa came..then i input the amount i wanted to be changed to dollar. It was successful.. Then around 3pm..it was reflecting in my dollar wallet.

NB
1. Do your transfer before 12noon
2. Do your exchange before 2pm..reason....for your money to reflect in your wallet the same day. If it passes 2pm...you will get your dollar the next business day. You can also do cash deposit..also observing the timelines above.

After selling, you follow the same pattern...you exchange your dollar to naira...then withdraw to your bank. Good luck
is the ROI monthly or yearly... how many percent pls?

As much as I have interest in it, I can't risk giving my BVN to any one

What would your BVN be used for? Trove and Chaka are legitimate businesses with offices. If you have any doubt you can visit their office or contact customer service. If tou had read the earlier parts of this thread, you would see that your questions have been duly addressed.

Have you guys thought about a solution/app that could help you track all your investments in one place? Achee, a new fintech startup, looks to be providing this service.

I have investments in both Chaka and Bamboo. I find chaka's fees more expensive and the interface not as simplified as bamboos'. Also bamboo reduces commissions from 1.5% to 1% when you become a gold member. Your investments are also insured by FDIC for up to $250,000. I have been investing since May and i can say i am very happy with Bamboo. I have added a snapshot of my portfolio (hidden amounts) but you can have an idea of what ~6 months roi looks like. The key is to buy the dips.

You also gain more as a value/growth/dividend investor than a trader due to the high commissions on these platforms (even as at bamboo's reduced 1%), traders need to find commission-free platforms like robinhood.

My question is, for instance you buy a stock...let’s say $TSLA $10 in the morning and there’s a spike in the evening, can one sell it off immediately? I mean on Bamboo?
