As regards unclaimed dividends in UACN, does anyone know how to pursue it for someone who's still alive.

Can it be done online or does the person have to present anywhere?

Also, is there a way of confirming how much is pending in unpaid dividends?

I also have 1250 units of Dangote flour bought during their IPO. I never collected any dividend from it. I lost the certificate 7 years ago.

For Dangote Flour contact EDC registrars for your cash equivalent of your holdings at the rate of N24/share which is the price Olam paid to buy out the existing shareholders of DFM

On behalf of oga Emma; Here is what to do:
Download the respective e-mandates from this link
https://sec.gov.ng/public-notice-the-e-dividend-mandate-activation-forms-of-various-registrars-are-now-available-for-download/

Your dad takes them to his bank and submit. All things being equal ie no signature issues, the dividends not older than 12 years will be credited to his account. If otherwise the respective registrars will advice on the way forward.

N.B: For DFM your dad is getting a pay off not only dividend because Olam already bought the coy over and it has been delisted from the NSE

Can you tell me more about this.Though I was looking for something easier that could be done online. I'm not a big investor really. Just some of my small savings from my little income and all.

Do you know anyone that's into export? People who export cocoa, sesame seed, garlic, ginger, cashew, charcoal etc.

Exporters are paid in dollars for their consignments.

Exportation is the reverse of importation. Although, in export you'll need to do some documentation that will require you repatriating the fund back to Nigeria.

I'll advise you make further enquiries and get a trusted person to help you with the process.

Does this your last paragraph also applies to Alumaco of Nigeria plc? Is the company still active or delisted from the NSE? Thanks

Alumaco was delisted since May 2016. I am not sure if it was a case of buy out because a company can be delisted but not buy out. I don't think Alumaco was a case of buy out it was just delisted most likely because of regulatory issues. in that case he gets any outstanding dividend. However, if it was a buy out, he will get the money as well.

Good day, i heard UTC Nig PLC has been delisted, do you have an idea what happens in such a situation with investor's dividends? Are there chances of still benefiting from the investment.

Thanks in advance.

Sir, it is not, Land in that area of ikorodu goes from 9m and above and the price is negotiable. I can give you receipts of the items used in putting the building up.

Same thing ahiboilandgas said, I cant rent out a property in a suburb of Lagos for 400k the apartment has been occupied.
I hardly comment on this thread but I have learnt that the men on this thread are very knowledgeable and informed about Nigeria investment environment.

With your N5 million you will buy a plot of land at Ogolonto about 5 minutes walk to the BRT stand

Ogolonto is closer to Maryland, compared to the hinterland location of Ikorodu where this property is located.

We are in a buyers market.

And Ikorodu tenants can owe for Africa, you will end up selling the property.
grin. The last part of your statement. I think it not a function of the area but the tenants in question, my opinion tho because a verification should be done on the tenants you can Google creditchex they help carry out verification on tenants, school debtors etc

Ema, I think you are wrong here. I am not sure that step of going to get signature confirmation from the bank is still a required step.
For those who the owners of such shares are still alive, they only need to find out who the registrar of that particular share is (Google will help here), download the e-mandate form, fill it, scan and send to the email of the registrar gotten from their site.

No my brother we are saying the same thing. dividend mandate can be submitted at the bank or to the registrar that is what is obtainable right now. More so some registrars don't honour the scanned copy especially if first time. They prefer it coming from the bank or you going to them. I suggested the bank in case if it's difficult getting through to the registrar the bank becomes the best option. Going to the bank is not for the document to be signed but to be submitted. The bank then upload it to the common portal where the registrar have access. same thing if it's the other way round

Oh okay.
Most I have dealt with have always accepted my scanned copy. Entering the bank nowadays is a day's activity, so I am for anything to avoid it.

Are we save with dmo debt instruments....The Debt Management Office, DMO is currently enmeshed in corruption scandal, Saturday Vanguard can report. Money amounting to N1.08 billion is alleged to be lost from 2017 till date, thereby raising corruption cases the country is battling.

It was learnt that the large-scale financial wrongdoings in the office would likely draw the attention of anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The corruption is allegedly being perpetrated through various means ranging from awards of contracts, operating on temporary files, unauthorized overseas trips, organization of fictitious events, production of fake transport receipts and destruction of official documents.

Chronicle of frauds

In December, 2017, the office requested the then Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun to approve the sum of N90 million to cover travel expenses to states for eight DMO Staff to carry out reconciliation of the Paris Club Refunds. Adeosun approved N60 million for the exercise.

The money was released to the DMO via AIE No. CMD/SW/REC/008/2018 dated 12th January, 2018 but the members of staff nicknamed ‘the Task Force’, we gathered, never travelled to any states.

They rather worked in-house to conclude the assignment, using the records already in the possession of the DMO.

It was gathered that the money was subsequently withdrawn in tranches, brought to the office and distributed to the staff contrary to extant regulations

The first tranche of the money, it was learnt, was N4.8 million, the 2nd, 3rd & 4th tranches were released in the sum of N20 million each and N15.2 million respectively totaling N60 million.

It was gathered that the eight staff of DMO who did the work were only given about N2,500,000 each on the average, making a total of about N20 million with the balance of N40 million allegedly diverted.

Incidentally, the money which was an advance payment from the Ministry of Finance to DMO has not been retired till date.

In November, 2019, the office also approved money to be paid for events which included sensitization workshops on “various products recently introduced” by DMO in four commercial cities of Ibadan, Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Owerri. The events and trips, for which a total of N130 million was expended, it was gathered, never existed or took place.

N401.3million paid on contract splitting, media consultancy, using temporary file (T1- T1 million)
