For your questions....
1. No company or agent sales 25pcs of doc, unless you are collaborating with someone else or buying with other product through an agent( be mindful of the latter because not all agent does that)
2. At day one to three or thereby, you can use newspaper after which you switch to wood shavings; woodshavings and not saw dust please
3. You need multivitamin to be administered to them in water on arrival, after which antibiotics can come in from the day two....better still, tell your supplier to send you the vaccination chart required for raising them
3. It is still very early to start xmass breeding by now because you will run at loss; best time for december breeding is by late september to second week of october (your target should be between eight to ten weeks) if you wanna make profit
5. Put your biosecurity at the maxim in order to achieve the above
Lastly, if you know nothing about birds breeding, please and please, kindly buy the ones already bred for four to six weeks and breed to table size, it won't cost more than a thousand or a thousand, two hundred a bird to purchase; the latter advice is in order to avoid premium tears and the passion you already developed for poultry not to go to nought

You have done great job but u forgot to add that in buying d four weeks to six weeks trusted source is very key cos if u buy birds that are not properly vaccinated the sickness and virus will come down and make u loose hard earned investment


In addition to the answers you gotten I will still advice u go thru this thread from page 1 u will see process backed with pictures on how to start u will even read likely questions with answers , in case of any further questions u can ask here and am sure u will get ur desired answers

I noticed something like swollen neck in the last one that died and same symptoms around the neck and chest of others. Pls Help out what do I need to d, some are sneezing/coughing in a strange manner, making scary sound , pls I dont want this to end in tears help out.

Same thing happened to my mum's poultry years back.
First step is isolation/quarantine; any bird that isnt as agile as the rest, or that sleeps all the time(during the day), or that refuses to eat should be kept aside.
Go to stores big stores where they sell chicken feed/ vaccines around you and complain to them. They will give you drugs against the disease.

You could still lose more of you birds if you fail to act fast, my mum's lost about 25 birds in 3-4 days.

The vet told me not to cover them at night anymore, I don't know how advisable this is.
They are kept in an uncompleted building in my compound with door net at the entrance and net on the window.
I'm just worried because of the cold weather nowadays.

If I get you this birds are less than a week , if this is true pls to avoide stories that touch u need to cover d birds at night and need to improve on ur heat level at night cos if they are cold they will always climb on each other to generate body heat and d result is that every day u will be seeing deaths from the ones below

Now I understand , you complained of CRD , but do u have idea when last the birds took lasota before you bought them

The woman told me they have been vaccinated that I just need to give them multivit and antibiotics occasionally

Unfortunately her answer is not clear what I will advice for precaution is get lasota and administer to the birds the next day follow up with center cipro/Tylosin/Tylomax for 5 days let me know their condition after that .

The mods of this Agric section @Farmtech, pavore9 pls look into this issue of Emmaachile critically he has been one of the great minds in this section and has contributed a lot to the growth of the section .
Their is a mix up in the accusation levelled against him and if he was bad so many people cannot come out in his defense as the case has been so far.
And nobody except the accuser has any negative comment on him , even the accuser never accused him directly.
Let's not forget that in the past some people have accused some others and even brought proofs with time line such accused were even given time to defend their self and in the end their accounts were not even deactivated but in this case it was too fast for account deactivation
I wouldn't know if Nairaland have changed its rules but in all fairness Emmaachile s account deactivation was too sudden.
And for many that have known him to come out and defend him @seun pls look into this matter critically
