Lol well France second division probably has a better reputation than ligue 1 as of late when it comes to transfers making a hit. As of now na to play we dey find. I know how the optics might look but it could end up being a good move.

Well, you got a point as Ligue 2 gave us the likes of Kante, Guendouzi and a couple others.

And yes, it could end up being a good move provided he does play (and I expect he will play in Ligue 2) and in playing, he impresses so as to get the attention of some Ligue 1 clubs alongside the possibility of helping Guingamp get Ligue 1 promotion. Lad is still very young and good to go. This is Odey's chance to relaunch himself. Hopes he takes it strongly and get back the shine his bench/sidelines time at Genk took away.

Former Gombe FA chairman, Shuaib Gara-Gombe, has sensationally disclosed that Aisha Buhari, wife of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), wanted former Super Eagles forward, Daniel Amokachi, appointed as sports minister. Buhari on August 20 appointed the former Everton star as his Special Assistant on Sports, months after he was named the country’s football ambassador by the President. Gara-Gombe, while speaking on a sports breakfast show on Kennis 104.1 FM on Monday stated, “Aisha Buhari has always been fighting for those who participated in the husband’s campaign to be compensated and for a very long time, she has been fighting for him (Amokachi). “Actually, she wanted Amokachi to be the minister of sports. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get that position, so when the pressure was much on the Presidency, he (Buhari) tried to appoint him as a football ambassador. When he was appointed as such, he was asked to report to Sunday Dare. He’s been going to the ministry, doing nothing and between the period that he has been there as football ambassador, he has done nothing. “Amokachi deserves to be compensated. Buhari does not know Amokachi, Buhari knows his wife, who Amokachi worked with throughout the campaign. “We have always called for sportspeople to be appointed to occupy sports positions for our sports to be good but unfortunately, the few that had that opportunity either misused it or they are not too competent to be where they were placed.”

Today Is the Day: The Bukayo Saka Saga

The English Three Lions Manager, Southgate (Not Komekn, our in-house Southgate... I mean the real Southgate grin) will today release the list of invites for England's upcoming games.

Should Bukayo Saka make the list, there is a chance that he could accept the call-up. But time will tell.

Meetings have been held with him, his parents and his Agent. Rohr and Pinnick were present but no definite answer yet. Things kept on the low.

Today will see what follows. Will Saka be called up or not? If he is called up, will he accept? Would be very difficult to turn down an England Call-up to be honest. The stage is set and we would know soon enough. Time, as always, will tell. wink

Hint: Bukayo Saka follows the English Three Lions official handle on Twitter but doesn't follow the Nigerian Super Eagles Official handle. 'Would see if this means anything.

Odegbami and co couldn't qualify us for world cup, won only one Afcon and on home soil, couldn't even win CAF champions league for their respective clubs.

Why didn't Nigeria win AFCON before the era of Odegbami?

What do you expect Odegbami to do when Godwin Odiye scored own goal in the last match we just needed a draw to qualify for 1978 world cup?

The same Odegbami was crucial for Nigeria winning the first international trophy in 1976. The African Cup winner's cup.

The same Odegbami got to the final of African champions League in 1984 but lost because the government moved the match from Ibadan to Lagos were they are not used to.

Odegbami was the first Nigerian to be nominated for African footballer of year. He came second and third during his football career.

To crown it all, Odegbami helped won the African cup of Nations for Nigeria for the first time in our history.

If you don't know why Odegbami is a legend and world class player ask the old men around you.

I really don't see what the fuss is all about...

Saka isn't any different from the many Nigerian British players that have come out of the English youth setup..
If we lose him, we move...

Onazi will have medical with Crotone today ahead of a transfer according to Sky Sports and TuttoMercatoWeb.
