The elders who made this age long tradition of exempting the Igbo female child from inheritance did so because they know that after extorting her husband of astronomical amount of money during her wedding process, the husband will be able to recoup his wedding expenses with profit if his wife inherit anything from her family since whatever she owns is by extension also his.

Thanks godness someone responded appropriately. I just asked her a simple question: how many rich ladies are willing to date broke guys and marry them sef? How many? I mean, in this part of the world, the size of a man's pocket is what is used to rate him as being a 'man'. Even many ladies who are well to do will simply lockup. Most rich ladies most times go with rich guys. But it is almost a norm for a rich guy to date and marry a broke girl and establish her.

This was what started this whole thing and since it is changing, we hope the bills too can change to be shared by both genders.

And why did your visionless government interfere in the Jew ways of treating their female Inheritance affairs? The court should have consulted the Jews elders before the verdict or ask the girl to obey the Jews law hence is a religiously.
