Good day house, I'm having issues with my Nissan Altima 2002 transmission (auto transmission). After moving for like 15 minutes the gear will stop selecting. If I park and switch off the engine and wait for like one hour and start the car the gear will select and work perfectly for like 15 minutes and will stop selecting. My mechanic doesn't really know what is wrong with the gear. He brought one gear mechanic, the gear mechanic couldn't pinpoint what is wrong with the gear.

But one thing I noticed is that I started having this problem after changing the engine. I wasn't having this problem with the former engine. The former engine was smoking that's why I changed it. The gear was brought down, washed thoroughly and serviced when the engine was changed. Since then I have been having this problem of the gear not selecting after working for like 15 minutes

I'll be glad if you can tell me what is wrong and way out!

Thanks

The gear is bad..
I have same issue with my and it took all my savings because mechanic didn't know what to do.. I had to change the gear box and at ladipo I was given fake gear box. In short I was frustrated. When engine smokes, just change the ring.. A good mechanic can do that, not the engine...

150-180k is the engine depending on location and grade of engine.

Remote diagnosis not possible. Physical inspection and diagnosis recommended

Repair would be cheaper on this one if it's savable but like you said R&I first

Good day everyone. I need help. I own this Nissan Infiniti qx45 2001. Used it for 8yrs now. Recently it started having problem firing smoothly . I also noticed some smoking and the oil was below level . Got to the mechanic ,did oil change ,filter change and plugs were replaced . Car went back to normal . This was 3months ago.
This morning I noticed white smoke . Though the weather was very cold, I feel the smoke was a bit more than normal . The car also has difficult starting after a long drive . it eventually starts though .
Please what could be problem. What's the cost of a new engine

Do you have oil burn? If no engine should be fine.

Check fuel pressure for delayed start.
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by smartistics(m): 4:56pm On Aug 31, 2020
If the top gaskets goes bad over time or probably due to overheating with coolant sipping into the combustion chamber, you will definitely have white smoke and high starting. Call a competent mechanic for inspection.

Good afternoon fellow Nissan and Infiniti enthusiasts. I recently got myself a 2007 Infiniti M35x and I must say the car is a beast.

Just a quick one pls; how good is Torque Pro (for Android) in scanning the M35? Can it handle all or most of the car's scanning needs? Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

VG33E for 1997 to 2000
Oga you de try.

FX35 is a CUV in AWD or RWD while QX4 is a RWD or 4WD SUV. QX4 is a 4speed auto while FX35 is a 5speed auto.

Alot of other factors contribute to why the FX35 has a better fuel economy than the QX4.

stock to stock the fx is better in fuel economy but both cars a way different, the fx is a sport tuned CUV while the QX is geared more at off-road vehicle.

so pick the appropriate one for your use

Thanks bro. Overall maintenance, which is more expensive and less troublesome? fX35 or QX4?

Kingreignn and heavenlybang come shuk mouth, mbok. Awo annang. Finally confirm if the engine below (on a QX4) is VQ35DE because it doesn't look like that on an FX35.

Bros, I did a research and I found out that FX35 is cheaper (engine, gearbox) etc to run than an older Infiniti QX4.

FX 35 engine - 2wd - N180k, 4wd- 250k (you can buy 2wd and use it to connect 4wd)

Gear - 2wd -90k 4wd - 150k
2008 FX 35headlights - 80-100k

For FX35, engine+gear (2wd)- 270k PS: 320+150k ( Abuja)

Infinity QX4 - engine - 230k (mushin price), gear - N100k.

Headlights (pair)- 120k

Total for engine + gearbox =N330k

The FX35 and 45 first generation were available in Rwd or AWD with one gear option of 5spd Automatic. No separate gear for RWD or AWD.

The fx engine maybe cheaper vecayit rarely develop fault and shared with the G35 and Nissan 350z.

If you want reliability and good maintenance pick the QX4 mechanic won't bill you much compared to when you drive an fx to his shop.

Please let them scan the vehicle again and be sure it is the camshaft or crankshaft sensors. I bought tokunbo sensors from a guy in Ladipo and they all work fine. Remove the old sensors and tell me the last 3 letters on it or the whole letters on it. For example, one of mine has a29-632 l20 (camshaft). Then another has a29 662 l20 (crankshaft). You may google those numbers. Another thing the guy did apart from using his multimeter to check the sensors, was placing the old sensor in front of the new sensor to check if they repel or attract. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Can I get the number of this your guy in Ladipo

Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by Kamalu5258(m): 4:08pm On Sep 29, 2020
There is a hack to prevent this beautiful Nissan from developing the CVT issue because it'll come eventually. What you need to do is buy an external oil cooler which can be gotten from Amazon, mount it in front of your AC condenser and route the CVT fluid hoses that go to the radiator there and your future troubles will be nipped in the bud. Also, that Altima has another issue that'll crop up in future which is the electric power steering lock. That problem can be prevented by a simple process which is: Place the car in the on position without starting it, go under the steering column and you will find a plug attached to it under(i wish i had pictures), unplug it, there you'll find a pink wire, cut the wire and your future troubles are over. Cutting the pink wire deactivates the electric steering lock completely.

Hey, good evening guys.

I come in peace and full honesty. I recently bought a Nissan Altima 2010 for my wife. We love the car and I think we got lucky with it as it's really clean and very well maintained. Love for the car got me digging and digging more until I came across CVT.

Now am worried and I would rather sell the car back, as I don't want her getting stranded on her way from work should incase CVT act up. I've taken the car to Automedics and they say all is well. Same thing too with Paintball Auto Workshop at V.I

But for a woman, I no want wahala. She works around Marina and we live at Lekki. So incase anyone has a client whod want the car. See below:

Stock shocks are stiffer from Nissan, reasons why KYG brand is an option.
