Hello house, I'm about to apply for a MSc program summer semester at university of Koblenz-Landau which I believe starts by April 2021, for those in Germany, please is Koblenz a good city to study and work. And I'll appreciate personal contact of anyone in that school.

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday to y'all.
I'm in need of clarification on this issue. I made findings on the differences between University of Applied Sciences and Universität/Technical Universities in Germany for Masters program and I found out that the formal doesn't seem to prepare one for research study like the latter and they also focus more on practical than theory. Does this mean attending Uni. Of Applied Sciences is a waste of time for someone who wishes to pursue a Doctoral program eventually?

How easy will it be to obtain a Ph.d admission into a Technical University with a Masters degree qualification from a university of Applied Sciences?
In essence, won't the awarded certificate be subjected to discrimination both home and abroad? (because as I found out, it's more a less a vocational college in Nigeria)

..or it's not as bad as I think?

I don't think it has anything to do with PhD. The difference is just like University of Technology and Ordinary University; just in the case of Nigeria. Whichever way, you can still apply and be selected for your PhD if you decided to further your studies.

Please I need some information about making international transfer for the payment and blocked account.
I tried yesterday at the banks but there's serious shortage of foreign exchange.
I need guidance on how to go about making the payment. Thanks

If apart from block account, if you need to pay for enrollment and some little things, I can help you from here, you can always send msg.

For those that have received letters of presence, what did you do with it?

I have had the letter of presence with me for about 2 weeks now and no appointment date yet.

The contact form page does not allow for document upload.

Did any of you send it to the embassy by email?

If yes, what is the email of the Lagos embassy? rk-visa105@lago.diplo.de or info@lago.diplo.de ?

Has anyone who tried the above gotten any response yet?

Thanks

If you want to do PhD, go to a University otherwise go to a University of Applied Sciences.

If you are in IT, it doesn't really matter tbh but in other courses some companies prefer university graduates over those who attended University of Applied Science.

It depends on what you want to do in the future after studying.

You can use Google translate to read the article but if you really want to do PhD, I will advise you not to go to a University of Applied Science.

It's not like in Nigeria and yes it has everything to do with PhD. In Germany you have Technical Universities(TU9 for example), normal Universities and then Universities of Applied Science.

If you are not interested in PhD, then simply go to a University of Applied Science. Universities in Germany are meant to educate future researchers, University of Applied Science aren't set up like that cause it's more practical than research based hence why it's hard to be accepted into a PhD program after going to a University of Applied Science.

A degree in a University would take you 3 years, whereas in a University of Applied Science, it's 4 years.

Also, if you did your BSc in a german University of Applied Science and want to do your masters in a normal University, you will see that in most cases you will be required to write an aptitude test or you will be rejected because you didn't do the required courses in your Bsc.

If you attend a Studienkolleg in a University of Applied Science, you are only required to apply to Universities of Applied Science afterwards.

University graduates are also paid more, although the difference isn't that much.

There's a whole lot of difference, if you research deeper. It really depends on what you want to study because in IT for example, most people would want to work after their masters so it doesn't really matter.

Pleaseeeeeeeee which of the resident permit do they need? Temporary or Permanent. I
Larryhillz28:
If you don’t have a benin republic immigration issued resident permit please do no bother going there for interview.... I just came back to Lagos from Cotonou... me and one other Nigerian boy was not even interviewed because we didn’t have it...

If you see how empty the visa section was, I wept cos they had so much space that no body was applying except me and the two Nigerian boys...

But here in Nigeria no dates... it’s a pity...
I pleaded with the VO to ask the Nigerian embassy to give exceptions to those who have letter of presence but he said he couldn’t because they work independently.... he checked my documents and said I was very prepared and in fact I was... but the permit was the only document I lacked...

Well I came back peacefully to wait for a miracle meanwhile I’ll expand my business as I wait...
