Ignorance is truly a disease. Apart from the fact that the Nigerian Army has a provision for welfare for its officers (both active and retired), do you want to tell me that the COS is not buoyant enough to build a 3 bedroom bungalow and present to someone free of charge? Try and acquire some brain please.

OP, me I applaud the gesture but the question that hasn't been asked remains...
Who will pay the rent when the current one expires?
I didn't see it in your post. Abi the man must die before then?
If you ask me a room & parlour would have sufficed so he can pay from his pension (because I didn't hear any mention of his family).

How about the plight of others we don't hear there story?
Since you know about the welfarism of the army, what is the army doing concerning it's veterans, are they keeping in touch? If all of them come to the social media, will this be replicated for all?

Even in developed countries like the US not every veteran can be cared for.

The soldiers should also live responsible lives, invest the little they can and build a future for their children....
The Army also has the Military Pension Board.

Why is it so difficult for the average Nigerian to accept a good development.
But lets assume the army had never rendered any assistance in the past ( just an assumption) does it make this one invalid

You are correct I know of retired servicemen who didn't have anything left after retirement but the clothes on their backs and government issued housing.

At the same time the US cares for most but does not care for every retired soldier. Many are homeless, disabled and without benefits, unemployed/unemployable or addicts with severe mental illnesses.
