Why are people not factual in the way they write here. Messi can't leave Barcelona on his own accord. He was contracted to Barca. Barca insists that huge transfer fee must be paid by any club that wants him before he can leave. Man City are not ready to pay a dime of the transfer fee. La liga supports Barca that it's either the transfer fee is paid or Messi sees out his contract; La liga doesn't deregister him as a Liga player . So why are you blaming him? He wants to leave but not up to him.
grin he should augment the bills like coutinho did to join barca, then we go know say truly he wants to leave

How and why is the above necessary?

Some would still go ahead to say Messi doesn't want to leave Barcelona because he can't flourish in any other league even though you now just realized he can't do so even if he wanted until the club sanctions such a move.

Let's hope you'd understand my comment above.

Messi is not a novice in sports...he cant say he doesn't understand contracts... he only decided to activate it because of the 8.2 loss...if he was serious about leaving, he should have done that in June , and thats barcas anger , barca knows messi is trying to play smart... using the covid as an excuse...

Messi, you are more confused than a dog on heat. Whatever you wanna do, pls do and stop disturbing us.

I 8-2 say this.
Did he say that he doesn't want to leave any longer?
Isn't it Barca that is refusing to let him go?

Do you know how to read or you just love being silly?

Only fulls and blinds regarded him as best, he should go out and prove himself like cr7, otherwise he should continue scoring against Elba. Kukute oshi

This girl again!

He should have left in June? In the middle of the champions league?

And then you'd still call him a quitter?

You keep talking about 8-2, so what is wrong if he decided to leave after 8-2?

You are seriously taking delusion to greater heights like always.

To a large extent, I must say! Once you have a contrary opinion to theirs, they start hurling insults like it's their(most of them) sole right!!

Like someone up there said, CR7 is a decisive being on and off the pitch but the other... I can't say!

He's considering staying because it's going to take a long legal battle and no club is going to want to get involved in a legal battle.

How could you talk about being indecisive in this case? Haven't you being following events?

That is outrightly silly of you.

Truth is messi will end his bright football days in Barça. All this back and forth news about his Barça exit is to help his write it in history books that he actually wanted to leave and conquer other leagues but it was Barça and la Liga that refused him. It's a subtle attempt to justify his sectional goat status. I hate to say this but if he doesn't leave now, cr7 will be in a better place in history.

[quote author=logon599 post=93517905]I've never been drawn into the Ronaldo vs Messi arguments as I don't see any value in it for me. I respect both players for what they've achieved, but one thing that has differentiated them for me has always been one person's decisiveness against the other's history of indecisiveness.

If you have common sense, you will see the situation of a club willing to go at any length to keep a player and a club that won't budge to the request of the other player, which made it easy for the player to walk away.

A lot of things happened since June.
Lemme refresh your memory and list some for you;

1. Big loss to Bayern.
2. Swapping of Arthur with Pjanic.
3. Sacking of Setien.
4. Sacking of his best friend Suarez.
5. The new coach coming in and singling him out by telling him "you don't have any privileges any more"

If Messi decides that he wants to leave because of any of the above, what problem do you have with that?
How is it an issue.?

Your obsession with Ronaldo just makes you talk a lot of senseless things about Messi.

Madam Ronaldo doesn't know you ooh...the best you could ever get is admire his posters.

Stop spreading your ignorance on a public forum dear. In la-liga, Messi and City never admitted meeting each other and besides, in la-liga. You can talk to a footballer without the club's permission. If you agree with the player, just go and pay his release clause at the la-liga office and the player is yours.

I always knew he would stay, it's a contract and no matter how frustrating it looks, he has to see it out. Barcelona isn't willing to let him go, so definitely he'll stay back till next season. Most Nigerians use sentiment to judge issues and the funny part is they can't take what Messi is doing if they were in barca's shoes. If he decides to leave, he'll be the biggest loser with a court case and a fine...but if he sees out the remaining year on his contract, barca will lose and he'll walk away freely.

It doesn't matter how long he has served barca or what they have done for him. What matters is there's a binding agreement which has to be followed by both parties.

It is Messi that used sentiments in working for Barca. If he had in the middle of the CL you all will label him a bad person. When you say "What Messi is doing to Barca" is 20yrs not enough to spend in a club? is he a slave?

Then he should see out his contract...in football, u don't just wake up and say u wanna leave unless the club wants to sell u ... is messi the owner of barca ?? Or is he any different from other players that are contracted to their club?? U keep on posting rubbish... or don't u know the meaning of a player that is under a contract ?? Some intelligent ones tried to correct u messi fans on the city news yesterday, but u messi fans rained insults on them saying they are jealous
