Where are the protests? Where is #occupy Nigeria.

I always knew Nigerians are hypocrites but the level this fact has been exposed under Buhari’s administration is beyond belief.

Thanks so much.

I am a die hard fan of Buhari, but I can confidently say that Buhari fck up on this fuel issue. Buhari please don't take our support for granted. In 2011 we were ready to die for gudluck Jonathan but when he fck up we threw the buffoon out.
Baba Buhari, pls don't make us regret our decision. You need to sack evil advisers who are not happy to see the poor smiling.

In my own opinion, this is pure wickedness.

As usual, only the poor will feel the hardship this government is subjecting us to

Not just the poor... The middle class is currently fading away before our very eyes.

These people are incurring higher costs of living with, ironically and paradoxically, lower wages and even far lower living standards!!! Add the fast declining power of the national currency, and see that spending power of most Nigerians is becoming too huge a joke.

As the spending power of the working class continues to decline, most businesses will terribly suffer!!!

Fuel subsidy is the only thing I’m enjoying from this goverment....

I pay for school
I pay for light I don’t see
I pay for heathcare
My shock absorbers need changing regularly cos the roads are bad
I pay for my own security
I pay throw dirts away after
I pay for my water....
I pay for every money that enters my account
And I still pay tax...

Subsidy is the only sure thing this nation can give me.... let them keep paying... I don’t care how much it is.... it’s not like when they stop the money will will now be used to improve the nation.... na looting go end the matter...

Surprising simple Economics 101 explained, and you still can’t comprehend? Don’t worry yourself too much, when Dangote’s refinery comes on stream, the price of petroleum crude products will fall.

https://politicsnigeria.com/explainer-what-you-must-know-about-new-petrol-pump-price/

This write up is pure trash cos I remember during the eve of elections in 2015, they promised that fuel will go as low as 30 or 40 per litre.

To achieve that, the former minister of state of petroleum, ibe kachukwu who later became MD NNPC in the early years of APC government, promised to revamp all local refinery to make adequate local consumption at lower price.
Instead, the wasted billion and billions of dollars doing nothing. At the end of the day, they kept recording loss at the refinery all the way to 2019.

When 2019 elections came, Atiku said that the way forward for NNPC is to sell NNPC and retain only the regulatory aspect therefore, opening the petroleum market sector to wider market, Nigerians because of that singular reason didn't vote for him even when he said the plain truth.

Today, NNPC is nothing but a drain pipe and a laundering center for all kind of anomaly in the petroleum sector. First of all, the money wasted to exploring oil in the north, till today, there is no fuel there yet. Secondly, the almighty turn around maintenance that has not turn around yet. Money that could have been used to build a new refinery was wasted and declared loss year in, year out for the last 6yrs. With all the lies that they need more years to bring the decided change, the real truth is the have not even initiated any change process.

Today, NNPC is the sole importer of fuel in which they now sell to marketers! How can fuel be expensive again if not fraud?

What a failed nation....

Can a government be more insensitive than this? At this period when many have lost their job, some are getting 1/3 of their salary. Oh my God. You go ahead and introduce obnoxious taxes, introduce VAT that we don't understand, increase electricity tariff and go ahead to increase pump price. This is so unbelievable.

The funniest part of it is the money will still go into private pockets. Nigerians won't benefit from the subsidy removal.

The refineries are dead today because of the so called subsidy by Government, nobody will buy a refinery that is doomed for gross losses, remove regulations, let the market forces fix the price, that is how it is done here in the United States, the price off gasoline in Houston Texas, is not the same price in Columbus Ohio, there are different factors that will still come into play, from state taxes, to delivery & distribution.

It's not my fault that you can't read and comprehend... Don't ever use that condescending term on me again!!! You should know where your level is!

Your current president marched and protested against the very same removal years ago... If he weren't leading now, he would have still spoken against it... That's called Hypocrisy!!!

In the event that you missed the thrust of my submission... Let me help you: Removal of the nonsense subsidy (Note the use of the term nonsense) should have been done in 2015 when Buhari took over! Calculate how much would have been saved since then... Would the temporary negative effects have been as harsh then as it is in this global depression and suffering going on now??!

Put your brain to use before you mention me again!!!

Nobody is justifying nothing. That's the reality. We want the government to stop subsidizing fuel, they listened. Now we are all feeling the heat.

You can't eat your cake and have it.

We should channel our curses to those experts that deceived the gullible Nigerians.

It’s a global thing, the world will go into recession sooner than later, only those making money in the new world (cyberspace) like Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk (Tesla) & Co could careless, billions keep increasing.

as much as I would commend your effort, you are quite economic with the truth, you failed to explain the underlying factor of the landing cost which is exchange rate, if buhari had fulfilled his champagne promise of one naira to a dollar, all these won't be an issue, how much is the dollar today? it's just a grand economic failure on a basic commodity that control our economy,if dollar we're 200 naira do you think we will by fuel at this rate?

I didn't read and they don't need to explain. We Nigerians love the hike. In fact, it should be 200 or more per liter because everyone is rich in Nigeria.

If you doubt, call a Nigerian "poor" and see how angry he or she will be.

So, Buhari, you're the best. We Nigerians love to suffer. If possible, we want you to rule us 2 more times.

Nigerian constitution needs to be amended because of you.
