Accommodation cost in Abuja is grade by grade. A lot of people just tend to over exaggerate things. The same way Lekki,VI Ikoyi GRA Ikeja areas are expensive is same for Maitama, Asokoro,Wuse 2, Gwarinmpa are equally expensive.
Since u are young man looking for a decent & affordable room or flat I will advise u look at satellite towns like Lugbe, Kubwa, Airport road, Maraba, Karu,Jikwoyi,Arab Road. U can get a decent accommodation in these areas btw 250-400k and proximity to town is just about 45mins
In my opinion the cost and standard of living in Abuja is far better than Lagos so don't be discouraged by what people say.

Abuja is for those cimimals, most especially the government sector and a few shrewd business men. let me give you an example, if on average you spend around 50~60k monynly, in Abuja you go spend like 100k. That's aside house rent and bills too.

To be honest it's a beautiful state, BUT TO ME, ANYTHING THAT MAKES LIKE HOLES ON MY ACCOUNT ain't worth it, even a woman.

Ordinary small piece of chicken and rice 1.5k, ordinary pure water of #5 naira na #20 in Abuja. in short, people are just scamming each other to see who get money pass.

The Landlord's are the biggest scammers, small self contain with room and parlour, they will start calling 1 mil. Thieves
Take it easy with the lies... Na fake people wey no sabi coat their coat accordingly dey go for such nonsense.

You can get a spacious one bedroom flat at kuje axis for 350k , in lugbe area from 80k above ( around car wash and zone 5, but no good road ) , they have good estates around lugbe where their boys quaters go as much as 200 to 300k , then at aco estare around 400k for I bedroom, from lugbe to town for transport depending on the area , secetariat 150, same with area one to 3, Jabi one drop too, same with wuse and Berger to utako. You can get comfortable selfcon at Karu site and jikwoyi around 150 above , but the problem of that road is hold up in the morning and evening, from AYA you can find your way to anywhere. While kubwa and gwarinpa axis one bedroom flat go for as much as 1.5million , no holdup and good road. Apo is 400 for selfcon, same with life camp and jabi . There are so many estate within lugbe area , better still make use of jiji to compare the cost of house in Abuja. Food is cheap in Abuja, they have lot of markets

I'm just here watching people ditch out lies and hatred maybe out of ignorance. Truth is Lagos has expired, no amount of condemnation of Abuja will bring Lagos back to life.

Op, listen to me, move to Abuja, later you will be happy with yourself you made the move.
If you are not lazy, Abuja is the best place to stay in Nigeria.

N/B I live in Abuja.

Abuja is cool, but the rent can kill if you're not so strong financially. There are highbrow areas and there are lungus depending on your taste and budget.

You'll enjoy it even more as basic things like foodstuff, transportation etc. are quite cheap. Note that some areas and houses are marked for demolition across FCT so do your findings well before moving into any house.

See there's a new developing area close to dutse, with 350k you'll get spacious one bedroom apartment(new house o) that has water and meter. And house there na pop ceiling things not pvc, tiles everywhere. Sincerely it's better to pay such and have such space than to pay 800k for one disgusting tiny selfcon in town just for show.

Mind you there are many fake broke guys here, dem go pm you to see if they can leech off u or squat with ya.

In abuja you are either very wealthy or you are wretched. There is no middle ground. You will find out that even the people who claim to be doing fairly well are actually wretched and are just putting up appearances. If your salary is not up to 1m a month you can't live comfortably there. The prepare yourself. No friend in abuja. Even your relatives dont know you. The only time people will say hi to you is only when they think they can get something from you.

Consider asokoro village. A set con range from 130-180 depending on where u choose either kurundum 1,2 or 3 with 3 d least expensive. Steady light, easy access to Central area without traffic, water depend on d compound u choose .

Hmmm..The major thing to consider before moving to Abj is ‘Acommodation’. If you don’t somewhere you can squat for some time freely then.........get ready to spend

Kubwa is a very nice location to reside in Abuja no doubt.. Better than leaving in mararaba.

You are the one who lives in Osogbo. When pure water was 5 naira everywhere in naija, it was already 10 naira in abuja this is as far back as 2007. Now pure water is 10 naira everywhere you want to tell me it is still 10naira?
