In abuja you are either very wealthy or you are wretched. There is no middle ground. You will find out that even the people who claim to be doing fairly well are actually wretched and are just putting up appearances. If your salary is not up to 1m a month you can't live comfortably there. The prepare yourself. No friend in abuja. Even your relatives dont know you. The only time people will say hi to you is only when they think they can get something from you.
I swear, in Abuja everyone minds his business, no one cares about you, and man Abuja people can fake ehn, you go see person wey dey drive loaned car, wey dey live in house with rent of about 1m but na borrow him dey borrow, Abuja guys I hail una.

See there's a new developing area close to dutse, with 350k you'll get spacious one bedroom apartment(new house o) that has water and meter. And house there na pop ceiling things not pvc, tiles everywhere. Sincerely it's better to pay such and have such space than to pay 800k for one disgusting tiny selfcon in town just for show.

Mind you there are many fake broke guys here, dem go pm you to see if they can leech off u or squat with ya.

Where in Abuja is pure water #20? grin And who told you, you cant get cheaper yet plentier food in mini restaurants? Abuja is expensive, but please it's not as crazy as you put it out.

The Amount of fuel you will burn to reach those mini restaurants daily is enough to offset the difference.
Anyways I don't usually stay that long, as soon as I finished what I came to do, I leave that city the next day.

You wanna enjoy Abuja, don't be a hustler. BE LOADED!

Is there any official figure to that?
Housing and lands are more expensive in Abuja than Lagos. So are every imported good.
It's not really true that housing and land is more expensive in Abuja than Lagos. It depends on the area. However ,the standards in abuja are better .
There are also better payment options like mortgage that can be paid gradually over many years.

LOL. These are fallacies bro. Abuja isn't exclusive to Maitama and Asokoro. Even in those places, there are still places you can sort yourself out on hustler levels.

You see that bolded ehn. Don't try it. That place is a slum, no better house in that area, just one dirty area like that. If you want to stay in that environ and it's not federal housing authority side na rubbish. House wey you no fit invite person come, to spoil everything no water system, no road because it's not a permanent residential area, so better structures are not allowed.
Have you stayed in trademore estate ? What of CBS? What of VON? River park Nko ? Even around dunamis Patience jonathan estate nko? Or sabo lugbe? There are far better places than federal housing around lugbe , in federal housing most houses there doesn't have water, but those ones I mentioned they have their own boreholes right in the compound, even lugbe aco is good , the slums in lugbe are around that zone 5 , you can buy community land there and develop it. Those places I mentioned have well tarred road network and they share the same electricity grid with airport.

My dear friend, Abuja is cheapee to reside compared to Lagos and Port Haecourt. However, pls dont come if u dont have a job you are doing. It is not worth the suffering. Business here is survival of the strongest. Lastly, criminals like robbers, buglars, one chance, evil boys are rife in Abuja. My neighbour was killed by robbers inside his house. Everyday, robbers operate! If u are ok weaever u are, pls dont come to Abuja!
Killed by robbers? Jesus! What part of Abuja?

Re: What Is The Cost Of Living In Abuja?? by heartofcity12: 9:24am On Sep 05, 2020
You can make it anywhere you are. Most of these big cities are over rated. When you go to that same Abuja, you’ll realize there are a lot of ppl that have gone there before u yet still suffering and struggling to make ends meet. If you get a very good job there, pls go there and don’t waste anytime otherwise just stay where you are. The polithiefians and few government workers enjoy the place, others are left to struggle..

I’ll advice ppl to stay where they are or where they understand and try to do their impact to develop their society. Find what your society needs and invest in that, that’s how wealth can be created and achieved, we under rate these things, aren’t there rich men where you live? Don’t complicate existence for yourself Biko, except you have the resources or a good paying job in Abuja. You don’t need to go to Abuja because your friend went there, you don’t know what anyone actually do for a living or condition they live, you can only know yourself.

Houserent alone is not friendly in Abuja, what will you do when you start having kids and paying very expensive school fees and other expenses when ppl are already building their own houses in other states. If you get a very good paying job in Abuja or huge amount of money to run business, pls go otherwise I advice u stay back. Think and create wealth for your self whereever you are. God will help us all.

Op u need a moderate place to stay in abuja.
Well there are more place for middle or low income earbers.
Place like kubwa, dutsemapepe, suleja, gauraka,kagini,zuba,lugbe,(gwagwa,dei-dei,dakwa,Tasha) but those places mrntmenti in bracket are the most rugged place in abuja.

Are u referring to guzzape?
Not really behind d guzzape. Relatively OK, there is an empty sef con in my compound, good enough with light but no water, we buy water from a close neighborhood of 2 min walk. 130k
Re: What Is The Cost Of Living In Abuja?? by AerialMapper: 9:31am On Sep 05, 2020
What will be your income in Abuja. This will ultimately determine everything else including where you'll decide to live. I know people who commute from Suleja to Abuja everyday. There, housing will be extremely cheap but your commute to work will be a hassle using public transport so it would be better if you have your own car. Other cheap areas would be Karu axis heading towards Keffi or Gwagwalada axis. Another option for cheap accommodation would be the "lungus" but since they are largely informal settlements, you could wake up one day with a bulldozer in your sitting room.

Solve your accommodation issue and every other thing is pretty much affordable!
