How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

I updated my Xiaomi Mi Max 3 (Chinese rom) from MIUI 11 via OTA to MIUI 12.0.1 stable yesterday 12.0.1.0 (QEDCNXM) specifically.

Since then I am unable to use the Google playstore and I get the error in the screenshot below.

How do I overcome this?

In trying to resolve this problem, I signed out of my google accounts, removed them, and now I can't re-add the accounts anymore as I get a "can't sign in. there was a problem communicating with google servers, try again later" error message.

As it is, I have no access to gmail, playstore, google drive etc.

Can anyone using a Xiaomi with MIUI 12.0.1.0 stable (QEDCNXM) rom upload his Google play services so I can try it out?

Better still, provide a working solution

Clear cache and data of playstore, use another network or use WiFi connection (can be from someone's hotspot) to login. Alternatively, uninstall Google play services and reinstall using the latest Google installer apk. Lastly, check the apn settings of your network, if there's any proxy, remove it.

i had this same issue the only way to fix it is by resetting the phone then send play store with the exact icon below, then find a way to get your Gmail back and then sign in or create another Gmail trust me it will work
And there are other apps for downloading app like aptoide and trust me it's better than play store.I used it when I had the same issue and I haven't resetted the phone

That Sim is a 3g Sim in a 4g phone. Kindly upgrade that Sim to a 4g Sim by visiting their office.

Also when you were downloading the ROM didn't you see the device codename and version number?

Did you care to compare it with yours?
