Last year December, was @ omole phase 1. Got a request, called the woman, @ d gate, dy wasted my time for lyk 4 mins.

Ok, I reasoned, just calm down n take d trip.

After some mins, woman sef no show, I saw a young dude bringing down bags of rice, after the fourth bag grin, I asked him, where is madam,

Abi she is no more going...

Dude told me that, no ooo, I'm the one to deliver
these bags of rice to iyana ipaja, that they are waiting for me. I was shocked cool

To crown it all, dude said there is one more bag upstairs huh

I cancelled the trip n left in anger....

Various abuses of the use of E-hailing abound, sometimes, I wonder why things don't work in Nigeria n would work in foreign climes...
Those drivers on rental abusing partners cars simply because they feel is not their car don't know the arm they're causing for themselves.

My mum always say "if you're a tenant and you maintain your LL's house well one day God will help you build your own and when you own one its same good tenant you too will get but if you're bad you'll get a bad tenant in return".

How you go carry 4-5bags of rice??! D person dey mad ni... Na inside lagoon me go drop that person.gringrin

With all due respect Sir, you made a valid point but have you try to look deep into why Uber went into this partnership with MOOVE?

Uber is a household name but has just a little fraction of the market share in Nigeria. So by pulling out quality cars which MOOVE brought in to serve their customers I believe that within the space of little time they'll take over the market from their competitors.

The idea of using America standard as same 8n Nigeria wont work is not fact. How many businesses originated from Nigeria? Even the education we have is from the western world so why won't it work here as well?

The car we are even talking about is no big deal, its group d clearance is even higher than the popular Honda civic with the factory 14rim. Banks, cooperate organisations and individuals use this brands of cars on the daily apart from the issue that it's parts will be a little bit more expensive than the conventional 03-07 Corolla anything other than that is d same. From engine down to transmission.

The two weeks daily delivery of the car to their workshop is for lots of reasons structured out in their business plan and not all drivers will qualify to continue driving with them after these two weeks.

Though the idea may seems crazy to many but what I see in this is just a market strategy and in few years they'll breakeven.

What small scale investors should do now is keep a close watch and study the trend very well because anything can change at any time.
Your very wrong here, try and read what dru23 wrote again den u will understand better, do you know how much it will cost to maintain dos cars not to talk of the bad roads we have here dat will spoil ur shocks and mad danfo drivers, keke nd korope that will nearly destroy the cars,. Then we have not talk of the 500naira trip or they want to segregate by having more of the rich class patronizing them.
They will park their load and run away after 1yr into the business, just use brt bus as a yard stick and see horrible they look rite now nd badly some of them are

I'm here o. This oil shortage wahala is much of a problem. Even getting the right synthetic oil is another thing. I will suggest that we move away from the usually known oils and focus on other good brands like Motul energy 5w30 API Sl sold by infinity tyres, Royal purple is sold here on Nairaland which is also an API Sl, or the German Addinnol 5w30 which is also 5w30 with energy conserving. Lubrex has a new oil in town that's energy conserving too and it's 5w30. I happened to come across Favoil 5w30 but I have not yet received the other gallon to analyze it's efficacy. There's also Infinity lubricant which claimed that it exceeds the specifications. We used it on a Corolla 2 weeks ago and we are yet to get feedback. For those using Toyota cars 5w30, focus on the API Sl energy conserving gasoline engine oil only type of oil. It will never short. Even though the newer oils are backward compatible, use the oil recommended for your car.
Helpishere, when am I getting my money? You want to continue to run your mouth on my thread, I ll continue to go after you.. thread after thread..

Sooperrescue, send me my money, that’s all I ask.

Okay I agree I'm wrong, but maybe you missed where admitted their parts are much expensive than the older Corolla cars?

Which car no get shock absorber? Which car no get tire? Bros leave that thing you're talking about and stop acting like you know more than CEOs with billions naira investment. Those BRT buses you talked about you think they haven't recoup their investment and profit?

The only odd against them you should have said is that the cars are too expensive for low fares transport and that would take them years to recoup their investment but the point im trying to make here is, I'm very sure the partnership business benefits bolt uber and MOOVE. Take for instance its possible uber wont be collecting any commission from MOOVE drivers instead the commission goes to MOOVE because directly and indirectly MOOVE is doing one of the biggest adverts for UBER.

Now see it this way, 25% commission+25,000 naira weekly are you gonna tell me they wont recoup an investment of 5m in 3yrs?

Those guys are wicked.

I had a terrible encounter with them 2weeks ago.

Got a request to chevron drive from mm1.
Got to pickup, rider was already on standby just after the car park entrance. But there are cars at his front so he directed me to drive forward a bit. I have to move just out the small gate at mm1.
Immediately I stopped, one of them clamped me with those their big iron wager. And rider was just about to open the door, I locked my doors back immediately, reversed back to escape, they clamped my back tyre with another one.
I climbed the one in front with speed, and it got stuck under my car making serious noise as I drive and there is little traffic at my front.
People started shouting that I will spoil my car, but I no send any one. I kept moving small in the little traffic till the thing got out from under my car, but affected my right fender.
They rushed me immediately, trying to open my door. but luckily the traffci at my front cleared and I sped. One of them by my right side dragging my door handle fell down and rolled on the ground. Those in front respected themselves and cleared. I drove straight to the Conoil just before the express, rider called me and apologized, begged me to wait at the Conoil, he'll treck to meet me.

I waited till he got there and proceeded with the trip.

Those guys are heartless.

Waoh, that's some real James bond. Sorry about that.

Alternatively, you cud join d queue @ d pick up point n ask d rider to wait till you can drive up slowly to his end and pick him up at that small incline.... That way no rules were broken...

If its not long distance trip, airport trips ain't worth it.

I hate the international airport trips wt passion! ( weda pick up or drop off)

Baba, since you started driving on Uber/Bolt, you must have parted with over 30k. Chai!
I remember my humble beginning :
LASTMA collected 20k at TBS
THIEF RIDER stole my 6k in car arm rest at Osborne road when car stalled on the road.
FAGBA POLICEMEN collected 4k for obstruction while finding my way to AGEGE
OSHODI AGBERO used my head collected 3k for driving into one way street at BOLADE, all these happened within my first 2months of driving on Bolt towards the tail end of last year.

I learnt and became more aware after these experience. This too shall pass brother. Chin up!

I don't undeunderstand, is it that drivers are not allowed to pick riders at the airport? I picked an elderly man at mm2 terminal without the other day being harassed.

Cheer up brother...hustle will pay it back.

U learnt a vital lesson already.....don't let that deter you from Airport trips....

The rule is never put of your car !

When request enter....drive round till you can physically ascertain your potential rider!..

give them instructions of engagement don't let them dictate for you, most of them are ignorant of the rule and will often abandon you to your plight.
