In fact, senior party members absconded their jurisdiction about a month to the election after the last tranche of cash was released. Most of them left for "medical checkup" at the middle of the game. But their foot soldiers were really out to upset PDP but their backbones were not supportive.

For Igini, I don't hold brief for him. If the kind of election that was held in Akwa Ibom State is classified as rigging, then it will take centuries for Nigeria to get it right. Honestly, I have participated in one way or the other in elections since 1999, but this was the first time election materials get to the polling units(at least I covered a ward, as an accredited Observer)
