FIRST IT WAS NIGERIA BORROWING GRAIN O, NOW IT IS IMPORTING FUEL

BUHARI WAKE UP PLEASE

APC WAKE UP PLEASE

WE ARE REALLY ON AUTO PILOT

Nigeria has always imported fuel. The problem here is how we descended to even importing from Niger who is already relying on itself

This piece is obviously sponsored by promoters of the status quo and their cash cows in the criminal organisation called the NNPC. When their feet is put to the fire and their relevance in public opinion is collapsing they tactically promote the failed narrative that in other nations government owned oil assets are doing well so.... 'we should as in this case get our REFINERIES WORKING'. While in reality they are dead and cost us billions every year, trillions since they died in the late 90's to keep them in the morgue.

When the Dangote refinery is finally up and running together with other modulars I will wait to see the excuses for having a 'National' aka Federal owned oil company that is both player and referee and twists the game so badly it wins trophies without competing. They might as well revive NITEL and NEPA as that is what they dream about.

As far as I am concerned the only thing keeping those refineries 'open' is nepotistic jobs for friends and family, contracts for the boys and graft for the fatcats. If not they should just give Dangote the money they spend on the dead and decaying refineries to complete his including the so called 445,000 barrels of crude oil they are presently stealing which this post is flown to tacitly protect.

Nonsense. Algerian government refining crude oil ko, Egyptian government refining palm oil ni.... Hiss.... Any Nigerian suggesting repair or building of refineries by government is the stupidest entity ever.

To sell to Nigeria at N120 to N150. Highly illogical and remember the excuses then was that in reality fuel was moving in the opposite direction, so is it fuel round tripping or what? from Nigeria to the rest of West Africa and back?. So we wish to know the timeline of events if we are not to say all these confusing narratives are churned out to shape opinion and force propaganda to accepting the status quo.

My own is simple. Those who wakeup every morning, bath, dress up and go to work in those dead refineries and collect salaries at the end of the month are acursed. They know the monumental fraud they are perpetuating on the blood, sweat and tears of Nigerians. And no amount of whitewashing will clear their consciences.

Just passing and saw this... Not sure how Nigeria importing petrol from say, Spain sounds like an achievement to you when compared with importing from Niger... and Nigeria's total debt in 2015 June was $63.8bn; now it is ~$80bn.

Neither of them is an achievement.... But the Bottom line is, Niger is a country who just started oil production and it's a slap on Nigerians face that presently, such country can end up selling crude oil to us..

And as for your second comment, how about you take a look at this screenshot. Nigeria debt rose with about 85% between 2015 and 2018... And the debts have even increased way further in this 2020 now... Stop defending incompetence and mediocrity

A big resounding AMEN to this... I can confidently say AMEN because we all know who has drawn us back as a nation here...

Maybe I should ask you some few questions so you can have a clue in who has drawn us back..

1. How much was the total debts Nigeria owed before Buhari came into power and how much is it now?
2. How much was a bag of rice before Buhari came into power and how much is it now?
3. How much was a liter of fuel sold then and how much is it sold for now?
4. How much were we paying for electricity and how much are we paying now?
5. Was Niger who just started making Crude oil exporting oil to Nigeria during Jonathan's Era like what is happening now?
6. Which Government values terrorists and grants amnesty to captured terrorists?
7. What was the dollar to Naira exchange rate then compared to now?

Yes I agree with you that it shall never be well with whoever is dragging this nation backwards alongside their supporters regardless the party where they belong...
My brother don't mind the bigot,We know where his reasoning is leaned towards. Its a shame we have people like him in this generation, how can Nigeria ever get better.

It's true that they were not working when Buhari took over, the question is what has Buhari done about the refineries since he took over? The answer is blames and more blames, do you now see where sane Nigerians have issues with Buhari? He only blames and has failed to do his bit.

algerians and egyptians havn't sold part of their rafineries even to big western oil compagnies , why they will sell to nigerians ?? for money ? they have more than nigeria ( check their budgets you will see the hudge difference ) , oil expertise they are also far ahead .

Over 20 licenses were given to build and own private refineries before Dangote - none has started. Why?
We love money and not investment, that is is the problem of Nigeria not Government. Because the same Nigerians that love money not investment will find themselves in Government and kill every policy no matter how good and wonderful it seems to look

Amotolongbo:
It won’t be surprising if told Nigerians own some/many of the refineries in Egypt, Algeria and Niger .

The excuse now is waiting for the Dangote Refinery to commence operations, though it may likely solve the problem of importing the refined fuel, I don’t see it lowering the cost of buying these products cos of the monopoly involved.
To solve the problem, Dangote oil monopolizing the oil market, our 4 refineries must be privatized to viable individuals or corporates who are capable, not like the PHCN privatization.

It is so evident that we are not mentally and morally capable to as a nation run and maintain the operation of our refineries. We invest an elephant-size resources into our refineries, but they churn out sheep-size products. What sense is in that?

Now that the subsidy has been removed from the fuel being imported, let us see what they are going to invest it on

APC killed Nigeria finally. As long as crude keeps rising in international markets we will keep buying at a higher price. Any day, oil gets to 80$, we will be buying fuel at #350/l.

We are simply worse off, since the refinery have been a bottomless sinking fund hole since 2015
I'm not a fan of this government but both APC and PDP killed this country , if the former had built refinery we won't be here , the current government is clueless on what to do , Nigeria needs a fresh party to be on the right path
