I'm not very conversant with Abuja. I've only visited a few times. My big sister stays in Maitama, that's the area I know plus our Wuse church. I stay indoors most times. We do go buy suya and shop in one ShopRite look alike place like that. Other than that, I prefer to stay indoors. Whenever I'm super bored, I take a stroll around the neighborhood. You won't even see people on the streets, only security guards by their gates. Abuja is not as exciting as Lagos. It's not a place I'd consider taking permanent residency in.

Is Karu in FCT? I thought it's in Nasarawa state,Op na only that Karu own I go believe you the rest aren't cheap as you stated...
Karu site(beside Karu bridge and Kugbo mechanic) is very much in FCT.
Even Nyanya federal housing too.
You might be talking of New Karu in Karu local govt of Nasarawa state which is further down on the Abuja-Keffi road.

Seun and moderators, this article should be taken down. It very misleading. It is only Kuje that may be on that list and there are several others that are cheaper than it. The writer doesn't know Abuja at all.

Dei dei is mainly filled with Hausa people except the igbo traders who comes to sell and go. I cant advice someone new in Abuja to go live at Dei dei

Maybe it's been long you visited Dei-dei

Dei-dei is divide into two and it's separated by the expressway and the population there is mixed (Hausa, igala, ebira nupe Igbo and Yoruba)

After kubwa Dei-dei is the next place that is fast developing now on that same express. Estates are springing up everywhere (brains and hammers, NIU estate, urban shelter) and in places like dakwa and Shagari quarters you will see self contain with POP and constant light (33kva line ) for 120k- 160k

Karu is under AMAC and should be top of the list. The other places might be bigger in size but in terms of development, Karu is almost completed.
I stayed in Wuse while in Abuja and did not have knowledge of places. I was shocked the day, I got to Karu to meet somebody. That area is developed and cool. Way better than the other places OP mentioned. If I am to look for house in Abuja, it gotta be Karu in AMAC.

One thing OP don’t understand is that almost every area in Abuja and it’s outskirt has its highbrow and ghetto neighborhoods. So the cost of living (rent) in any area you’re living depends on the neighborhood. Kubwa get sharp neighborhoods that is far better than some places in Wuse and the likes. Likewise Lugbe, Karu, Maraba, Katampe, etc.
