Just trying to play devil's advocate. I don't have pity for people who are scammed. A ponzi scheme that is very popular on Nairaland and among the youths will find it very difficult to survive another 9 months, the signs are there for those who care to see it 3 Likes |

ahiboilandgas: At 17%, the risk involved in investing in a frontier market like Nigeria was worth it. At 3. whatever% it is now, and with CBN's last 5-month delay in providing FPIs foreign exchange, no sane investor from abroad would consider investing any significant amount, let alone the equivalent of 1 billion naira. Their shareholders/investees would have them shot. |

emmanuelewumi: It's a big slap on Nigeria - no refinery working! FG has come again to sell federal assets to cronies and make them mega rich the way Nitel, PHCN, etc.were sold out shoddily. Buhari's regime keeps borrowing and not a single project has been executed - NIGER Bridge, railway project, etc. started by previous governments are still pending. Where are the money sunk? Hope this is not hate speech? God bless Naija! 1 Like |

emmanuelewumi: Lol. It's not their fault really. It's easier to see warning signs when you are on the outside looking in. For those inside, what other sign is there than receiving alert on the regular. 10% per month is more attractive than 10% per year. That's why there will always be ponzi. Subconsciously, everyone wants accelerated progress. 4 Likes |

FBN Quest Asset Management and FBN Private banking all belongs to FBN, FBN Private banking is for FBN priority customers who does not have the time/does not wish to deal with other FBN affiliates. In other words whatever rate you got at FBN Quest Asset Management you will also get thesame in all FBN affiliates. My RM at FBN Private banking confirmed that MMF rate for September 10th was 4.5%. emmanuelewumi: |

XiaoLi: FBN Quest Asset Management and FBN Quest Merchant Banks are fully owned subsidiaries who have their own MD/CEO and board of directors. The salaries structures equally varies. They also have different products. That is why information is key. A customer can have N20 million with FBN earning interest of 2%, while another can have N1 million in an investment products with FBN Asset Management earning 4.5%. So what rates are you currently getting from First Bank? 2 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by XiaoLi: 6:29am On Sep 11, 2020 |
MMF was 4.5% as of yesterday, 3% was what they did through the month though. emmanuelewumi: |

Sorry boss 1 billion Naira is just about 2.5m dollars. That’s not a significant amount of money. And believe it or not, there are still foreign investors investing in Nigerian TBills. 4% is always better than 0.5% you will find in the international markets. Cyberknight: |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:50am On Sep 11, 2020 |
Dangote effect. Even NNPC has accepted that Dangote’s refinery will own the market. Those dead NNPC refineries will not attract serious interest from buyers and will end up like Ajaokuta and Delta Steel wey Naija has been looking to sell since forever. It is the modular refinery guys that have taken huge loans that I really pity. If Dangote’s plant works, nobody can compete. If it doesn’t, then the NNPC refineries will be very attractive for investors. emmanuelewumi: |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by talk2tonie: 7:55am On Sep 11, 2020 |
XiaoLi: FBNQuest MMF has never been 3% at any point through the month, not even through this year. I think the lowest was 4.36% and that was 5th of August 2020. Use this link to check: https://fbnquest.com/asset-management/historical-funds/ 4 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:56am On Sep 11, 2020 |
The buyers of NITEL and PHCN assets are not smiling to the bank o.How could those dead assets make anyone mega rich? Infact most of them are regretting sef after taking huge loans to acquire those assets. Remember Ayeni and Skye Bank . The refineries will be the same. Only a dunce will attempt it when Dangote is staking all in his refinery project. Phylife: |

Lazyyouth4u: Oh, there very well might be. Like I said, with the blockheads at Goldman Sachs busy talking down the naira exchange rate in the near term (12 month outlook) and fanning the flames of devaluation, with the proven difficulty Nigeria might have in funding forex obligations as external reserves drop and with Moody's having changed its rating to negative for long-term debt and other rating agencies threatening to follow suit, it would take a foreign portfolio investor with nerves of steel to take a one year bet on Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

talk2tonie: FBN, FBN Quest Asset Management, FBN Quest Merchant Bank are related but they offer different products and services. Rather for him to keep on enjoying low returns, he can talk to them at the Investment Banking subsidiary of FBN, ie FBN Quest Merchant Bank to enjoy better opportunities and rates. With N40 million thereabout he can have an account with them 4 Likes 1 Share |
