Glad this thread is still very active.

I would like to have a fair non-online based comparison for the two large sedans below:

2014 KIA Cadenza (V6)
2014 Chevrolet Impala. (V6)

Both are on ground in Lagos and priced between NGN4 to 5m

Thank you to the usual suspects wink

I did pick the cadenza, more popular, reliable engine especially the 3.3L lambda, better road appearance, better interior and exterior attraction and looks.

I don't know much about the impala my believe is that it's the cheapest chevrolet money can buy on the street of US, I see is as a masses car. (my opinion not real fact)

Thanks for this Chief Nurey
The Cadenza is apparently the more sensible choice. I was tending towards the Impala on looks, rarity (in Naija) and sportier handling.

I await more inputs

Pretty sure the Accord is classified as full-size these days. The TL is also pretty roomy. RL if you want the full package.

I will recommend you either get slightly higher tyres or use the civic that way. It was made that way to drive and handle better.
DO NOT raise the suspension.

hope you know that using bigger tires will require more engine torque to move the car from a standing start and climbing a hill. not very suitable for smaller engines with low power output and low torque

that is the beginning of the end if you remove the thermo...fuel consumption will increase, your fuel management system will never enter close loop especially if they route the fans directly to the ignition and cause it to keep working constantly as the engine is on. if you're scared of overheating, get a double cell rad, that'll hold more water for the fan to cool, shikena

Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by lyort: 12:45am On Sep 10, 2020
the accord has good aesthetics and great exterior design, better aerodynamic shape than the toyota whether 4 bangs or V6, but hondas are synonymous with overheating problems especially their v6 engines and faulty gearboxes but the toyota is more reliable. simple engine, gearbox and electrical wiring makes it much more reliable.

"Big" is relative when it comes to tire. There's rim size, with and height.

What do you mean?

1. The ZDX is fancy. It was Acura's flagship model at the time, so it has better standard equipment than the MDX.
2. The ZDX was released in 2010, I believe, while that generation of MDX was in 07/08. It's a newer car.
3. The ZDX was canceled a long time ago and never sold in large numbers. Limited supply.

true points tho... thanks boss... so right now I dey stuck between RX 350 and MDX ... baba if u wan advise me based on every every which one u say make I go for...

The MDX is almost definitely the better car. Better driving dynamics, better engine, better luxury features.

The RX350 should be cheaper to maintain, though. It's way more popular and quite a bit more reliable.

i'm saying trash, i know. But hey, you're trying to raise a car by using bigger tires rather than manipulating the shock absorbers or stiffening the springs, what effect does the width has on what you're trying to achieve? and what is the relativity in "Big" when it comes to tire sizing?

Hello house. Please help me make a choice of these cars. The car will primarily be used within the city - to office, to church activities, school runs and them occasional inter state travels (from South-West to South East).

Important to me is fuel efficiency (in this period of deregulation, who knows fuel may still rise to N200/litre grin), stiff suspensions as it will be doing inter state once in a while with loads(mostly family things), enough space and leg room at the back (can contain 4 children of ages 7-13 on a long trip) and then low maintainability (not so expensive parts). I have narrowed down my search to the following:

1. Toyota Matrix [2005/2006]
2. Toyota Avensis saloon [2005/2006]
3. Toyota Camry [2005/2006]
4. Toyota Corolla Verso Auto [2005/2006] - I hear this model comes with CVT transmission which develops problem easily and difficult to maintain. i wouldn't know how true this is.

I will really appreciate your kind assistance on this.
