GeneralStan:

HOW?
States in the lowland like Bayelsa. Lagos etc always suffer flooding.
If kainji dam burst, all the water will come to these states at a frightening velocity and destroy a lot of things.
since those states are in the lowland and kainji is in the north, the water will be channeled down here and the amount of water in a dam is not just a small water, its enough to sink an entire state.

we in these part of the country knows how we suffer whenever Cameroon let out some water from their dam, now that is just letting out some water, if in case a dam burst and all the water is poured out, nothing in its way will stand, and it will be channeled down yo the Atlantic ocean, and any state close to the Atlantic will suffer heavy flooding, thousands of people will be carried away by water, buildings will be destroyed, lives will be lost, and u can't fight the current.
But do not worry, the chances of a dam bursting is very slim

I'm not a blogger too...it takes a Dumbo or educated illiterate a second to comment without reading the article
I didn't read the article but I was able to decode the fakes by mere use of unprofessional words and secondly we never heard of collapse of dam as breaking news

why is it so difficult for people to read and decipher. It was written that the embarkment is falling apart not the dam structure itself. The embarkments are the rocks/soil around the foundation and along the riverbank

One day you'll wake up and hear that Nigeria's crude oil has been depleted. Nigeria's oil reserve is totally dried up. Then the nigerian government will wake up and remember that they have other mineral resources. Wake up Nigeria!

Wrong... the embarkment is the dam itself... It encloses the water.. The only thing you construct in a dam is the embarkment(with rock pile at the upstream and rock dump downstream) and the spillway
