What is Okay To Board (OTB)?

OTB grants you permission to fly into a country without a visa , it can be used by a person to board an airline (provided it is approved by the airline). All you need to do is present all the necessary travel documents as approved by the embassy at the airport and you'll be allowed to board.

You are able to travel to north Cyprus, with OTB using Turkish Airline, OTB is airline specific. If you can get OTB for an airline to your destination, why go through all the hassle and tussle for visa? OTB is less stressful and quicker to process compared to applying for Visa.

However, kindly ensure you meet the following requirements:

-ACCEPTANCE LETTER from the school,
-International passport data page
-Original SSCE result.
-Flight Ticket (return) -Turkish airline
-Original Documents
-PCR Test result
-Apply for Okay to board 2 weeks before flight
-Check in 6 hours before flight
-One thousand dollars cash in possession

Thank you for your contribution, I acknowledge Okay to board has a few drawbacks, notwithstanding, the advantages are all there to see. Due to the backlog of applications, getting a Turkish Visa is currently difficult, it is easier to use okay to board to North Cyprus since it is approved by the authorities in North Cyprus and Turkey. Our students currently use Okay to board and barely experience any difficulty.

Is true that Ercan airport will be close again for sometime?i just want to confirm from people in north Cyprus,I saw somewhere on a YouTube channel comment section about a Cameroonian that was told at their airport to come back October that northern Cyprus is closing their border. However; I spoke with him yesterday he said currently due to the recent opening of the airport TRNC recently have around 40 active cases of Covid-19 and as you know TRNC is a small island everyone is scared we don’t want the case to reach even 100.

The meeting with university, immigration and health authorities will be over this weekend to make decisions.

Myself am away and supposed to be in TRNC in few weeks/days since we planned giving 50% face-to-face class...however, I will be flying through the south since the border is opened and a.m. flying from a country with moderate case according to TRNC categories.

You need to get south Cyprus visa to study there or visit there except you are European or national allowed legally to South. If you are from Africa, apply for the visa.

There are opportunities in all countries this will depend on who is searching for the opportunities, what the person calls opportunities and how the persons identify opportunities.

This is based on my experience (I have visited 75 countries).

In 2015; I promised to sponsor my friend and my student summer vacation ...I planned spending max 10,000$ for three of us during these trips.

3 weeks to summer; I asked where they want to go so I can tidy the budget. The lady said she would like to visit Paris or Italy and the guy England or USA ....for me I have not been to many African countries so I decided to visit 5 Eastern African countries. The lady got her Italian visa at TRNC; the guy was denied UK visa but was approved USA visa. They each got 2k from my end and they went for shopping and taking all the nicest pictures of tall buildings and all stuffs....

They asked me why am I going to Burundi and Rwanda for a vacation...they convinced me so much ....to cut the story short; I enjoyed quality holiday in those countries, learnt the culture; food and see beyond the media. I spent 10 days in Burundi and I sighted an opportunity where I export their coffee to Europe, Canada etc, first year of export I earned nearly 5000$ as profit and since then till today I export from both Rwanda and Burundi with significant profit.

Currently my student graduated and lives permanently in Canada and working but now very much interested to start import from the same country he asked 5 years ago why I am going there ....anyway we are trying to create our own fast to drink coffee brand to be distributed in Canada and other region.


In summary; what you call opportunities should be specific and must streamline to your own goals.

I am not Professor of Cyprus issues. I am academic research professor (specialized on advanced materials synthesis for biomedical, environmental, energy and industrial applications) earned after several educational degrees and years of scholarship experience (masters, PhD, post-doctoral etc)

If you have applied for admission yourself through the university website; you will notice that each university have international office which often have email addresses and phone contact. The staffs of the international office are trained to answer inquiries of prospective foreign students, so they are the first point of contact. You should ask them anything relating to the university.

This is Nairaland ( a public forum where people ask general questions; the answers here will only be correct if the person responding works at the concerned university).

Go ahead and contact CIU for your specific questions that’s how a prospective international student should do and act. If you have applied through an agent, you can still ask the agent if such person can provide detailed information.

If you want to know about Cyprus in general, this thread has part one just google it or search for it; you will find tonnage of details and this part 2 is growing.

I understand you perfectly..my point exactly is that if you have specific questions relating to the university you have applied you are better off asking the university directly because they have direct answers specific to their university.

Some of the agents of each university also do have some responses to common inquiries from students; but for me I will advise getting in touch with the university first if not get accross to your agent.

For general information about Cyprus; if you read this thread back or the first thread of North Cyprus you will be well informed as well,

In summary:

—-you need to have adequate financial support to pay your tuition and living expenses

—-the jobs are limited just like many other countries and even though many finds job but the wages often does not pay their fees while some are able to manage out.

—-The environment is quite, small island and compare to many other countries safe (you can dis-regard recent politically falsified news by do-nothing politicians)

—— Here is not bed of roses neither hell of fire ...you won’t pick Gold and cash on the street ...it’s just an island suitable for education mainly.

—For smarter students; you can always make use of infrastructure here like stable electricity, internet and many to build yourself.

—- I am happy to say, I have recently seen African students using the facilities to build a better future and developing themselves. Just few months ago, a Nigerian started game development company all from his room. The game is quite nice and he has received good recommendations and will participate in game competition early next year and few locals have signified interests to invest. Also, a Rwandese lady instead of using her phone to take selfies and posting all over internet for scammers to use; she rather focus on taking rare images of the nature; rarely visited locations; natural events etc. She got 30,000$ around March from Garanti for greenbrain virtual event; she has web store where she sells her images and she so keen to do more and change her world.

For me, I like meeting and knowing the smart, serious, legally successful, genuine, innovative and legally creative minds ....those ones inspire me!

I had meetings. The airport is officially closed 16-25 unless the traveler is a citizen. Also, they have some agreement with border in Turkey where most flights before month end tend to spend nearly 26 hrs in Turkey for details of passengers.

In summary the airport is opened from 26th September again to anyone ...kindly get your ticket anything from 26th but preferably first week October as waiting time in Turkey is shorter.

First, Money to hold while coming is a general question and it has been explained in past post, money to hold varies and depending on your life style but say for lefkosa where you might be staying , for house rent let’s say 117 pounds multiply 6 rents 2 deposit and 1 commission that’s 117 pounds x 9 for your next 6 months stay, monthly bills like electricity and water usage will varies as well while internet might be fixed depending on package you are and number of persons in the house , hopefully 50$ should cover the bill if you guys are moderate and take note winter will be around soon and more electric consumption so the price might go up , try carry some winter cloth from Nigeria though and for feeding again it’s all still varies from life style and eating habit. In all I think 200$ should do and you can make your adjustments while you settle in . CIU offers nursing but you said you got adminsion already

CIU or any school in north Cyprus won’t ask you to show any money. That’s not true.

i need help

i applied to EUL before the lockdown (the embassy had issues with the list the school sent before the lockdown {my name wasn't on the list at the time} so the embassy told me they'll get back to me as soon as they geyt the new list only for lockdown to close the embassy operations ...now considering that session already started the school moved my admission to October session ) .


now my question is do i reapply all over again
or how do i go about my Visa ?

also anyone going to EUL for October session please hit me up...
