Private universities are massively overrated, and this is from someone who went to one. A major reason for this is marketing, the fact that they don't strike (but if public university students were paying 1 million plus a session they wouldn't strike either) and the perceived safety and "morality" they offer.

The facilities and education of some, especially those that insist on shoving Christianity down our throats does not justify the praise they get which more often than not comes from people affiliated with the church in charge of the school.

How many CU graduates can stand beside Unilag, UI and OAU graduates with the non-qualified lecturers they have. It's in private unis you'd see ordinary B.Sc holder and M.Sc holders heading departments and Faculties. Such will never happen in a fed uni.

How many private uni offer Medicine and medical sciences courses? NONE.
Even the law and engineering they do is total rubbish. Half-baked graduates.

Stop typing what you don't know. I am a lecturer in a Public Uni in Nigeria and I have interacted with some of these private Uni guys and lecturers. Most of them I have spoken with are sound. These private Unis push for publications in high impact journals while most public Unis rely on Indian paid websites for publications except few like University of Illorin, Ibadan and afew others. Their graduates now fair better at employment interviews bro and soon I am afraid being an Alumni of these schools may open doors easily for them. Stop saying what you don't really know. As it is currently, I am afraid that the public Unis may soon become like Public sec schools. You mentioned Medical Science, there is a whole private uni in Rivers State that is specializing in Medical Sciences alone, soon you will hear about them. It may also interest you to know that even in America, most of the top ranked schools like Harvard and Yale are Private
