SADLY its like fibroids in women, surgery is the only major tried and trusted way out. there are stroies of other methods, however they are unverified

It's like truly we men are egocentric. Can't believe this thread is in the third page and not more than two(2) men owned up to be in this condition. Yet I know the extent of male infertility out there, God will deliver we men.
To the topic, I first knew that I was a victim of this health issue about three years ago and I could trace the root cause to my laptop. For about two consecutive years, I was addicted to playing Pro Evolution Soccer on my laptop for at about 6-8hours daily and this is done with the laptop on my laps. When I got married and after about six months of active sex life with my partner with no positive results then we got to know something was wrong and alas! the problem was on my part (2million sperm cells in 1ml, 70% motility and a bit watery semen). I was placed on Tarrivid (ofloxacin) to take care of the bacteria and Proviron (sperm booster) to boost the count. The result gotten after this was (2.5million cells in 1ml, 80% motility and slightly watery semen). I knew the problem was not solved with this so we resolved to alternative medicine. I got three (first is honey type, second is some herb extracted with water and third is plantain peal extracted with alcohol which was very colloidal or gelatinous) specially prepared medicine from a Medical Doctor who went for a short course in Phytomedicine and Tradomedicine in China or India.
Two months after taking this my wife got pregnant and we now ve a very beautiful girl. Now we are preparing for the second conception and I know it will be a success. Most of the things earlier mentioned here is What we are told to eat following my findings from the work of some researchers. Like taking carrots, walnuts, moringa tea and use leaf to cook vegetable or egusi as well as seed as food seasoning, Trevor drink, honey and onion combo.
Like someone said, let's avoid subjecting the testicles to any form of heat cos the sperm cells are proteins and proteins get easily denatured by heat. Also avoid tight pants and never place ur laptop on ur laps or close to your testicles.
I am a Nutritionist by training and will soon start my PhD degree in same field with special interest in infertility by trying the use of some herbs that could help in boosting sperm count, used as antibacterial especially staph and also pile treatment (as it can be a predisposing factor for male infertility). Will try as much as possible to keep following this thread and I want to urge us to move closer to God and never stop praying (prayer that moves mountains) cos with him all things are possible. God will put smile on the faces of the women here looking up to God for the fruit of the womb (Amen).

Good day house. Been ttc for 3 years. The last sfa i did showed low sperm cpunt and motility. Doc prescribed Addyzoa for me and i took it for 3 months still no improvement. Currently trying out herbs. Pls does local herb really work for low sperm count? Has anyone tried it b4?

Also our Doc is prescribing IUI for us. How reliable is this? Since my wife sees her period regularly.

was your doctor a urologist? If not, see one. Let them examine you for varicocele. because, if varicocele is the cause of the low sperm count, it will keep reducing with time.

hello house, I remember commenting here about my husband's sfa which was 5 million and 0% active motility, today we are very happy as d motility has increased to 30% and 20 million count. here is what was taken. addyzoa (for 3 months) with maca root (puritan's pride), vitamin c, e, zinc, roasted unripe plantain was taken 2ce a week, spinach was blended and drank 3 times a week, bananas and egg, walnut, carrot, cucumber and groundnut, water melon(seeds and bark included was eaten), the fruits were taken almost everyday too, enough water at least 2 or more litres per day

Came across this thread and felt I could contribute in my little way. To those who are expecting, may God favor you.

In my case, I wasn't married when I chose to do a SFA. I was over 30 when I started dating my wife and being a naive guy all my youth, I decided to know if there was an issue with me. I did some blood work to check my testosterone level and other things because although I do masturbate, I most times masturbate more than once.

I later asked for SFA to be sure of other things when my relationship got serious. The results were not that bad except for morphology which had 2% normal which was below the 4% normal set by the WHO. Interestingly, I never took the result serious when I was told that when I get married, if after six months there is no pregnancy, then we would discuss what can be done and also we had agreed we were open to IVF should there be delay. However, three months to the wedding date, I went to see my doctor and then he brought up the test result and explained each element to me. I was bothered and told my wife (my fiancee as at then) and all she asked was whose report do I believe.

Luckily, I was on Facebook one evening when I ran into a video on rant.ng's handle of a female Nigerian homeopathic doctor (Dr. O, she used to be live from 7pm on Wednesday, I don't know if she still has her presentation) who was teaching on infertility. I later contacted her and she prescribed her own solution which I got. I also read on nairaland and contacted one Flexherbal guy whose product I read its testimonies on how it enhanced performance. One thing he told me was I should not worry since I was yet to have sex. He recommended I get his herbs and also, eat more of cucumbers and bananas. I also got his product.

I discussed with a friend who was a Senior Registrar in Urology and he suggested I take Vitamin E and Manix in addition to Vitamins B and D my doctor recommended. He was a very strong support system and told me (I never bothered confirming it) that less than 40% of couples conceive in the first six months of marriage. Each time I was worried, he would ask I calm down.

Lastly, I read online and realized walnuts was a great solution for male infertility issues. I quickly added it alongside some nuts for my everyday snack. We prayed so much about it as well while praying for our home.

We had difficulty with sex our first two weeks and when we finally broke through, it was past her ovulation date. Imagine my disappointment when she saw her period. I tried to man up and started reading everything about the reproductive system and all you can imagine. Read things up on the TTC thread and many more. We discussed her next ovulation date and drew out a sex timetable to use around that period sex wise.

I was the one who was counting the cycle days and on day 28 her usual cycle, each time we spoke, I tried to ask if the flow had started. Luckily, day 28 passed without the flow, then came day 29,30,31,32,33,34 and then I suggested we go run a test. On day 35, we did and we were told from the urine sample that she was pregnant.

In conclusion, I can't say what exactly worked and neither have I done another test to know if the morphology has improved. However, I may want to think it was our faith, coupled with the medications. I did not finish any of them (although I used almost 80% before the wedding) because my wife wasn't in support however, I was consistent with the Irish Moss in my tea and Vitamin E daily. I used Manix only around the ovulation period. All I would say is try whatever product you are convinced on, read through the ingredients and read about what they do(please, do not hesitate to ask questions before you buy), and put your trust in God. I wish every other person good luck.

Good day good people of nairaland,
We have been trying to conceive for 2 years now, hubby has done testicular scan and everything is normal.

His blood tests shows very high prolactin and low testosterone, apparently it is what has been messing with his sperm count, morphology and motility.

We plan to visit the reproductive endocrinologist our gynecologist recommended but I would like to know if anyone has successfully normalized prolactin and testosterone levels.

Thanks

What kind of Semen test is this? Is it the regular culture? And how long did results take to come out.

Be careful and i suggest you don't Accept Cipro or any fluoroquinolone type antibiotics because they can have severe side effects like tendon rupture. There is an online community for people that got their lives ruined due to fluoroquinolone and they term themselves as "being floxed"

Google the dangers of any antibiotics you're given
