There are far better places than federal housing around lugbe , in federal housing most houses there doesn't have water, but those ones I mentioned they have their own boreholes right in the compound, even lugbe aco is good , the slums in lugbe are around that zone 5 , you can buy community land there and develop it. Those places I mentioned have well tarred road network and they share the same electricity grid with airport.

security is a problem in most of this suburb. Aboki thief will use knife and cutlass design you. We have to station our own vigilante men in my area with our own money and we equip them with fire arm after police advice us to get security for ourselves. That was when those criminals left us alone.

my area is called jahi (behind cash and carry abuja). i pay 65,000 Naira per year for a single room but they can accept 6 months..well there is constant light but sometimes transformers get faulty due to a heavy load......the area is very lively, not far from CBD, Secretariat e.t.c.my transport fee to fed Secretariat everyday is like 350 go and coming back. I want to thank you all for your advice and recommendations . It won't be a a gathering of Nigerians without the use of colourful languages but all in all it has been helpful . I will be moving to Abuja this weekend to prepare things against next month when i will be starting work . the apartment i got is in Kubwa . I have a vehicle. No place in Nigeria is safe, I'm believing in God for protection .

The summary i got from this thread is :
Get a job or have a business b4 moving to Abuja (done)
Have a vehicle for transportation (done skrt skrt)
Buy food from the local market instead of eating out (noted)
Live within your means (noted)
Abuja residents are not social. (this is a trend in most cities i've lived. tokyo, london, kl. so im not shocked)
buy land and build instead of renting (with which money?)
it cost nothing to live in Aso Rock (Ok)
