The problem is not with the name EFCC, ICPC, DSS, NIA the problem is the men who man the agency. Build institutions and not men.

I am coming to scrap the new agencies....

Nigeria nemesis is enforcing the law. We are not short of good laws and good agencies established on book. But enforcement of law is our weakest point.
Re: FG Approves Creation Of New Anti-Corruption Agency by Adedotguy: 6:30am On Sep 17, 2020
sad

The solution is simple

If hate speech can be #5 million fine and castration for rape for a common man then lifetime jail term for corruption of public offices won't be bad. Our law makers are audio chasers and FG is shadow boxing

Seems this administration just wants to create an anti-corruption agency for the sake of it rather than any cogent reason... Or just to brag that they also created an anti-corruption agency during their time in power...

We already have too many government agencies duplicating duties & are even looking at streamlining them, but as usual with this rudderless administration, it comes up with another alphabet agency whose primary objective can be easily tackled within existing structures...

Why not simply send out executive directives that all recoveries made my agencies should be paid into a specific account & documentation done at one of the already existing agencies or at the Ministry of Justice...

Or work with the NAss to make laws that make it mandatory for agencies involved in anti-corruption fight to provide monthly updates to the Ministry of Justice or Auditor General or Accountant General for record keeping since that is what this new agency is basically all about...

This is what we need in our darling nation at the moment :

Institute DEATH PENALTY to proven THEFT OF PUBLIC FUNDS no matter how little, and LIFE Jail Sentences for COLLABORATORS.

And to be nice and not too harsh,
Let us include the below....

Reduce current ALL Political Office Holders PAY CHEQUES by 51.5%, without exception.

Do away with special remuneration to POLITICAL ADVISERS & PUBLIC SERVANTS e.g; Purchase of Private Vehicles, Houses, granting Govt paid Vacations, paying for 1st & Business Class Transportations, etc, etc...

Abolish payment of OVERSEAS MEDICAL BILLS for Political Office Holders.

Eliminate PRIVATE PRACTICE in public workforce.

Eliminate participation of Public Workforce in Partisan Politics.

Institute EMPLOYMENT BY MERIT, and eliminate UNDEREMPLOYMENT.

Review and eliminate allocation of Govt paid POLITICAL AIDES & SUPPORT STAFF to Political Office Holders.

Finally,
Move Nigeria MORE to Private Sector Driven Economy

One of the many reasons we voted in this Government.
Nigeria will be great again in our lifetime...... we will keep believing in her.

We Rise!

Meanwhile,
We came across this bizarre news below early this morning.
We are still trying to confirm how true this is.
We will keep you posted......
Story for another thread......
you forgot to add "Elimination of quota System" . First time i will read your opinion and i have no objection. Nice...

Such a waste! Why create another agency when we already have two!! ICPC and EFCC are not enough? The type of leaders we have makes me wonder whether Nigeria struck a deal with the devil in 1960.

We are talking about very harsh economy due to devastating effects of CoVID19 and all....

There is inevitable increase in Tax, electricity tarrif , PMS and all...

Now, how do Government mitigate against all these effects Is it not by cutting down the cost of governance that we are all talking is too bogus and extravagant before this pandemic

Rather, they have chosen to create new agency, new directors, new board members, new office space, new operational vehicles and other infrastructure....NEW WAYS OF MORE SPENDING SPREE!!!

So sad!!!

It's so troubling indeed
