LadySarah:

Boil sweet potatoes cut into cubes and give her in her hands.

Every baby is different and reacts to food in their own way. Ebf or not, those that will eat will eat and those that won't will not. Also check if you or your dh are picky eaters.

I have successfully Ebfed 3 boys, take it from me that they eat so much it gives dh and I concern while my sil that didn't actually use cane before her kids can eat.I know their father my bro doesn't like eating

My 1st combined with cereals.

2nd rejected cereals totally even pap and formula. . It was adult food or nothing particularly swallow and breastmilk.

3rd who is currently 14 mths is open to all. This ones eating is on another level. Tueh!

Ebf babies accept adult food more than cereals. Fact! They love swallows too They are used to the taste of what you eat cos it appears in breastmilk! Once they express interest from 4mths give them.

Goodluck!

Thanks ma'am
Well noted
Tried swallow yesterday and she took it cheesy
Will try potatoes today

You can try give him candy every time he sits on potty even if he does nothing in It. But he sounds very stubborn. If he pees on potty more praise, if he pees on floor make him go sit on potty a few times but if he continues to refuse then spank him. You have to make him try sit on potty every half an hour until he knows this is not a game.

babythug:

Try the toilet trainer seat.

You just place it on the regular toilet seats he may adapt to that more easily.
Awesomemama:

He's about same age as my ds.
We started potty training at 1yr 10ms after he started school.
It took sometime for him but he got a hang of it.
Think you should stop wearing him diaper. He'll always refuse to use his potty when he knows he has diaper on.

Thanks a lot for your advice, God bless you, I was at my wits end two days ago and yesterday because of this issue.
I actually planned to make him quit diaper just like that whether he agree to use potty or not but the guy started holding his pee and poop for the whole day, once I wake him and bath him in the morning and dress him without diaper he will not pee or poo again all through the day till night when I wear him diaper to sleep. I dont know how he holds his pee. I tried to cajole him and then force him to pee him by tickling him and sprinkling him water to startle him into peeing but whosai

Then the second day of doing this routine of bearing piss morning till evening he started developing one kain serious cough and catarrh and serious sneezing and temperature. And protruding tummy.
I dont know of it was because of the cold weather or because of not relieving himself all through the day but I had to stop our potty training and start wearing him diaper again so that he will pee and poop during the day.

This morning he got better miraculously and is no longer sneezing or running temperature. He has been pooing since morning now and the tummy had gine back to normal size.

I don tire maybe I will buy washable diaper to save money.

It’s not likely a toddler can hold his pee all day, increase his water intake. Place a 1 litre bottle somewhere and ensure he drinks it all before 7pm he will pee even if in his trousers !

You also have to decide whether you want him to be potty trained or not you can’t keep switching back to diapers at the slightest resistance from the young man.
In Europe and co they don’t fuss much and allow children do it at their pace , maybe that can work for you but if you’re in this our Africa- Nigeria be ready to be lectured at every interval by every woman/mum/neighbour/ Aunty/ grandma you come across .

You can also take him to the potty/toilet every two hours and have him sit there for a while. You’d sit quietly and don’t engage in chats until he does his business . You can be pressing your phone or reading or catching up on notes . Its tedious but you’d get it soon enough!

Good luck once again

@bolded grin lol,
it's the lectures I hate the most. Oversabi experts are just everywhere.
Also the fact that I want him to be potty trained before starting school hopefully end of this year or early next year.

I will let him recover fully first before we resume again. The sickness really scared me but thank God he's better.

Thanks ma

Personally I take pap and it has always work for me. I think you will know your baby is getting enough milk if they ain't fuzzy or crying for more milk after breastfeeding. My baby cries if I give her an almost empty breast(I love emptying one breast before giving her another)

My country people, how una dey o...
Happy vigilante to new mums...
I'm eight weeks postpartum and my episiotomy site has not healed completely. I went to complain last week and was prescribed Augmentin which I've finished using. The pain from there subsided but a small wound site is still there close to the opening of my vagina (according to the person that checked me). Could it be my body that has a slow healing nature? Please suggest me what I can do to speed up the healing process.
Note: I've done the sitz bath something, what else can I do?
Kpekus ministry must start soon...

Good morning mums. Please I need advice and help- my 8 months old baby suddenly just stopped breastfeeding yesterday. If I try to offer her the breast, she starts crying and doesn't want to take it. She's already taking pap and some other things. I really want to breastfeed her till she's one year old. What can I do please? Because the pain I'm feeling now ehhn embarassed

you need to keep doing the sitz bath regularly not just once or twice a day

Give her food nah.
Your baby has reached to eat solids but Ina pureed or mashed form depending on what you have given her so far.

Start giving her what you cook. Thank God it's her grandma. Moi moi, oats, swallow with our local soups. If you must give noodles pls use stew instead of those seasonings, irish and sweet potatoes.

for the belly fat,you can't do anything now, heal well first, there are lots of diet you can go on to reduce belly fat, but heal first, for her crying, her cries might not be as a result of not feeding well, some babies cry alot, whether hungry or not,she will outgrow it,but if you still want to add milk,is ok,nan1 is cool. for surplus breast milk, pap, hot tea, lots of water, enough swallow. Note!her weight will determine if she is feeding well. my baby cry alot when he was a month,I tortured myself thinking he is not well fed,but he kept increasing in weight,so something else outside food might be making her cry, maybe stomach upset, called collick, maybe she has not yet adjusted to the world. so just watch her,in all, pray, they can express their feeling except by cry cry. you have nothing to worry about,God got you.

Any first time mum who has a busy husband and no relatives in the state she lives here

How do we cope with taking care of the baby and so many other things, the physical and mental stress

So sorry for the rant.

Awww, I can imagine how exhausting it can be. First thing is to get some kind of help. Infact, you need all the help you can get.
Itemize your to-dos for the day and then a week.
- Cooking
-Your laundry
- Baby's laundry
- Tidying the home, etc.

For the cooking, you can get someone to help you go to the market and then cook some soups and stew to store in the freezer. You take as you need. That should last you like 2 weeks.
Infact, I know someone who asked a caterer to make a paint rubber of moi-moi. She simply stocked it in her freezer. She brings 2 pieces out the night before if the need arises. And it serves her well, with her pap, rice, just plain or however she wants it. My point is, you do not need to cook everything.

Your laundry could be done very early in the morning. Say 5am, bathe baby 6am, eat and back to bed to rest.

You could ask someone to help with the tidying of the home once a week.

Or better still, get a trusted live-in help for the period dh won't be around. You won't be lonely and still get some time to rest while baby is awake and you still need to sleep.

Give your body a little time. It stretched over a period of 9 months, it will take some time getting back to shape. Since it's CS, it's not usually recommended to commence any exercises that could put a strain on the belly so early.
However, breastfeeding does help to shrink the uterus back in thereby reducing the size of the belly gradually.

Breastfeeding is strongly encouraged. Take pap, lots of water, get adequate rest. I take Milk booster cookies when I notice my breast milk supply seems to be thinning out due to stress or something and BAM! my breasts are full and leaking.
