Meel:Female mosquitoes of all species exist in tropical regions.Since only female mosquitoes need blood for reproduction,Plasmodia are ingested during a blood meal from an infected Host thereby increasing the transmission of malaria parasite which is endemic in these regions. Hypothesis:All female mosquitoes are potential carriers of malaria parasite! |

KelvinCoaster:Nah, no offense! I still do not agree with your assertion and I wouldn't want to drag this further. Thanks for teaching though. We learn everyday! |

[ KelvinCoaster:Yes the alternate hypothesis : All female mosquitoes are potential carriers of malaria parasite! But the acceptable Null hypothesis which any form of experimental/observational research has not rejected is that only female anopheles Mosquito transmit plasmodium spp and causes plasmodiasis Why should other subfamily of cullicinae transmit plasmodium when there morphology doesn't support it?? What is the human infective stage of plasmodium A vector is an organism that does not cause disease itself but which spreads infection by conveying pathogens from one host to another. A host is an organism that harbours another organism , which through the course of there relationship, the parasite get it shelter and from from it host. The relationship could be parasitic, a mutualistic, or a commensalist guest (symbiont). We have different types of host, Definite host ( adult stage &where a parasite reproduce sexually), intermediate ( reproduction here is asexually) , abberant host(conditions are not adequate for survival, further development, or sexual maturity and reproduction. But they can still be pathogenic in the case Toxocariasis, which is Dog roundworm in man), reservoir host, paratenic host e.t.c. Plasmodium spp life cycle is an indirect life cycle wherein a parasite is transmitted from one host to another by using a vector or by an intermediate host of another species. Man is the intermediate host, while female anopheles mosquitoes is the definitive host. The sporogonic cycle which occur in mosquitoes begins during feeding of the female mosquitoe on man. Gametocytes, which occur in male and female forms are ingested during blood meal, [ b] they mate in the gut of the mosquito [/b ]and begins a cycle of growth and multiplication. After some days, the matured sporozoite migrates to the mosquito’s salivary glands. When the female Anopheles mosquito takes another blood meal on another human, with the aid of its proboscis it, injects the sporozoites, which migrate to the liver, thereby beginning a new cycle. What makes the anopheline difference from the cullicine sub-family [ b] The ingested gametocytes will mate in the gut of the anopheline mosquitoes, and develop into sporozoites, but this is different in the cullicine, because instead of mating and developing, there will be an immune response against the ingested gametocytes causing it destruction and not growth into sporozoites.[ b/] As I asked earlier ,What is the human infective stage of plasmodium in mosquitoe If the human-infective stage are sporozoites from the salivary gland of a mosquito, then how do gametocytes mate and develop into sporozoites when ingested gametocytes are destroyed the cullicine body immune system?? For your hypothesis to be true, it is either the human infective stage of plasmodium is gametocytes or there body has now adjusted and favorable for sporozoites development.
