The mistake Ambode did was not to have many Loyalist in the State House of Assembly and have them to his side from the first day. At that moment he could not do anything because if he had decamped to opposition, he would have been impeached and that will be end to his entitlements as the former Governor.. Obaseki cornered Edo House of Assembly from the first day, that was why he was able to pull through such a move. What this means was that Obaseki was more smarter than Ambode in terms of politics and a better match to Adams Oshiomole and the APC.

Although I liked Ambode because he was a very hard working Governor unlike the pointus pilate we have now.

Ambode contested the DIRECT Primaries of the APC but was defeated.
As a loyal party man, he accepted the result in good faith and even told his supporters to vote for the choice of the party. That is the matured and civilized expected behavior of a true democrat.

That's how it's done in matured democracies. He has a brighter political future than someone whose actions shows he can't be loyal if things don't go his ways.

And who told you that Nigeria type of democracy is matured and civilized when one person and his family members will pocket the treasury of a state and give a token to whom they wish.

You obviously don't know much about Lagos' politics. Do u Know Tinubu hand-picked almost all the 57 LGA/LCDA chairmen in Lagos? Do u know almost all the Lagos state house of assembly members are Tinubu's loyalist who would've impeached Ambode the very day he decamps to PDP?

The population would've been little or no good to Ambode because they won't get to save him. I believe Ambode already weighed his options and knew there was no way out that favors him in all; hence why he finished his tenure and stepped aside.


My point still remains that PDP or anybody that seeks to take Lagos out of grip must begin their grassroots work now. That is the only way the population will come out for them during elections. That is where Ur theory of "Population out-numbering party faithfuls" can work out.

Yes the APC party structure is strong and a very solid one, but once you are able to convince the people to see reason and hold a strong will towards you, that's all that matters.

With Obaseki's composure, he would be disgraced than Ambode if he were to be in his position.
