I have a question or thought that has been bothering me.
I hope I don't come off as bragging with this tho coz it's not my intention.
I know some of us are doing well without this job, some people applying here might earn as high as 300-500k monthly from regular salary and side hustle. If ure a techprenure you'll understand what I'm saying.
We all know 2nd Lt salary na shit let's be very honest with ourselves especially when u get responsibility or once you're already used to living comfortable, to adjust with that amount as salary go hard gaskiya.
Is it possible for one to have time to run their regular side hustle daily let's say 2-4hrs on uninterrupted?
Is it possible?
I'd love your honest and candid response on this.

It's very possible to have side hustle but believe me, you may not be physically present to frequently monitor your side hustle except during your leave or what the Army calls 'Pass' usually approved by your CO and it's limited.

But, if you have trusted hands that can manage your side gigs with minimum supervision, it's fine.

Ok thank you.
I was actually referring to something only you can do.
Eg if ure a programmer, data scientist etc. These are jobs you don't need regular 9-5 to earn your money once you have the skill. You tend to choose your time of work as long as you meet deadlines

It will be hard for you to meet deadlines. If it's programming you're talking about. Think of the hours you'll spend writing codes, debugging... You'd literally have just the nights to work. Now what if you're sent to the North East? when will you even have the time to do stuff? Like someone up there suggested, the easiest way you can go is have someone supervise whatever business it is you want to start up... most likely trading on wears or any other commodities

Well, when we get there, we'll find a way to cross it or adjust with whatever we have.

There are many army officers that are very disciplined, strict with their values. They don't smoke, drink, womanise or indulge in any vices. I know an army Captain that is ready to even quit the job than for him to compromise his believe. Infact all his coursemates even know him same for soldiers under him. After he closes from work you will only find him in his room(praying), in Church or going for evangelism the man own is excess even to shake a lady is a difficult thing for him. At a time he even had misunderstanding with his commanding officer, Baba stood his ground o. Make una forget army is not what many people seem to portray it to be. There are many personnel of proven integrity in the army. It's a two way thing, surely there are some that "flex" as if there is no tomorrow, that doesn't take away the fact that there are others who are men with Spartan discipline.

For the person talking about not shooting combatant kids in the name of rules of engagement hasn't either read and properly digest the "Rules of engagement". As a soldier you don't kill women and children and attack worship places/schools. They are referring to noncombatants and not combatants, those kids kill like men, self preservation is the first instinct as a soldier. Even in real life the US and other soldiers of advanced militaries don't follow what is written in the book. When you hear gunshots for battle you go forget everything them teach you for training that one na fact. The first thing that will come to your mind is to return fire and save your life and that of your colleagues.
Ugo God bless you.... Sincerely God bless you

I beg to differ, Sir. I wasn't saying dat it's wrong to kill a Combatant kid, like d US sniper dat u were talking about, why didn't he go ahead n kill d kid despite d fact dat d young child had dropped d rpg?

If I was in d Frontlines, n a kid is with an RPG, riffle or pistol firing shots on us, I would kill dat kid.
The main reason why killing in battle isn't considered as "murdering" is because it's done for self defense (Kill or be killed).

This is a different scenario entirely, d poor kid dat might have been brainwashed who is even up to puberty, runs outta ammo, I den approach him with a full loaded M-series or AK-series, n he turns n looks at me soberly, den u expect me to point my gun in his head n blast his brain apart?

No! God forbid, I would arrest him instead, Sir.

as a tech guy, I run a small outfit where I get jobs and my Ui and dev guys execute the projects for some good amount of cash.. I thought about it so much but then I know that it’s going to be very stressful overseeing the business when I’m in training or passed out.. so I’m gradually grooming my kid sister who is also in tech to take over... she’d be calling the shots while I’m gone.. but the business still remains mine..the honest truth is there won’t be any time..you can still be collecting jobs as an officer but get people that’ll execute it, take your cut and pay them.. chikena

you really don't know anything about faith ... I wouldn't argue that with you.
