A good example is this covid-19 pandemic, at end of the day we will all praise science for giving us the vaccine but what we are forgetting is what brought the virus in the first place.

So many problems here on earth to deal with. They haven't dealt with those. They are busy bothering with other planets spending the same money they say they don't have

In the planetary neighborhood, Humans are not the only tenants. Now that the Earth is recognizing the signs of other inhabitants, if we don't go out to find them, they will come to find us. My dear, religion worships the source of these discoveries. Whatever the source is, Religions especially the organized ones, worship it.

Human problems you refer to are mostly human made and they are endless. Religion especially Christianity and the Yogic Traditions teaches that there is more to the existence that meets the eyes. Another dimension of life exists higher than that empiricism makes us believe. Science has done super no doubt.

I don't know if you're intentionally conflating the issue for argument's sake, but diseases are caused by different things (broadly speaking paramecia, fungi, bacteria, viruses, in decreasing order of size); the previous commenter was simply noting that all these things, including viruses, existed way before science. There are good things (and bad things) being done in the name of science, but it isn't up to science to censure the pursuit of understanding.

Nothing further is heard about planets because there's nothing further to say. There are billions of planets, so more will be discovered and cataloged as a matter of course. Some might be interesting to us (resources, refining our understanding, and - the holy grail - habor life), but the vast majority are boring spheres of rocks or gas. Much like cataloging grains of sand on a beach - most will be boring, but you might come across a particularly interesting one.
