The study of planets and discovering of new planets , stars and galaxies have been discovered by Christians and Muslims and Atheist alike. TBH, science has done more harm than good.
A good example is this covid-19 pandemic, at end of the day we will all praise science for giving us the vaccine but what we are forgetting is what brought the virus in the first place.

People are free to say whatever they want say but one thing for sure is that it is God in His divine wisdom gives knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

Religion links you to the creator of those discoveries, the undiscoverable and the giver of the brains and skills used in making scientific missions possible!

Science didn't begin now, it started long ago even in Bible days and is not that I am against science, in fact am still pursuing a degree in pharmacy but it's just that science is used in a wrong way, I mean, nuclear bombs that can sink a city, it shows that with the help of science we have people with the mindset of destroy a nation. Like I said before about science doing more harm than good, it means science does good but we keep forgetting the bad side.

My dear, religion worships the source of these discoveries. Whatever the source is, Religions especially the organized ones, worship it.

Human problems you refer to are mostly human made and they are endless. Religion especially Christianity and the Yogic Traditions teaches that there is more to the existence that meets the eyes. Another dimension of life exists higher than that empiricism makes us believe. Science has done super no doubt.

...but some religions, example Christianity, claim to have solutions to all problems through the Bible. That's why I brought the comparison
