Whenever P2716 error code gets recorded on the ECU of any Toyota or Lexus vehicle which in turn triggers check engine light on the dashboard of the vehicle, a simple solution could just be to drain and replace its transmission fluid with appropriate/recommended one.

Please share other likely solution to the error code that you have used to fixed the error if you have anyone.

Not every time, especially on ES350 2007-2012, it could signal the end of the transmission.

Hope you don't have the code on the vehicle you put up for sale

When trying to diagnose a P2716 OBDII diagnostic trouble code, it’s important to note the condition and level of transmission fluid, which as dirty transmission fluid or a dirty transmission filter, can actually affect hydraulic pressure inside the gearbox. If the ATF is clean, then the wiring and connectors on the transmission wiring harness need to be inspected for signs of damage or corrosion. If everything checks out at this point, then the pressure control solenoids, valve body, torque converter and transmission pump will need to be inspected.

What Repairs Will Fix P2716?

Changing the fluid and filter
Replace faulty pressure control solenoid
Repair or replace a faulty transmission pump
Repair or replace defective transmission valve body
Transmission flush to clean passages
Cleaning corrosion from connectors
Repairing or replacing wiring
Flashing or replacing PCM

Thanks. The ATF was changed few days ago and the old one was really dirty but I'm still getting the error code. My mechanic called a specialist and the man said the "gear brain box" needs to be changed, I don't know WTH he meant by that

the transmission has its own module. That's what they call gearbox brainbox.
