Materials will be wrought iron for the balcony at the approach. There's also the rear balcony which I might seal off with a hidden lock, (for security and emergencies) and will feature the wrought iron too. That's the window you referred to.

Do you know most welder run away from these designs because of what it takes (time and materials) to achieve them.

Those little pieces are what makes wrought iron works unique and expensive

I was working on a gate last week. The time it took to bend 20 lengths of 14mm square rod into a perfect circle (Pic 3 below) was almost 2 days.

It’s a time consuming work.
Here in Lagos and some part of Southwest I know very well you don’t need to waste much time to bend wrought iron into your desire shape
just work to OWODE mile 12 area to get it ( that is if you are in Lagos or ogun and Ibadan) there others places too to get such.

Some guys/ old men there are specialized Only on wrought iron designs work.
Just give them the design they will bring out the shape for you then your welder man will do the rest.

Wrought iron is expensive something. Normally the rod comes in 10ft length instead of usual 18ft most rods come as. Na recently they started importing the 18ft wrought iron.

What you're looking at here is more than #4,500. Imagine if your rail needs like fifty of such

I always do love this wrought iron work or designs, but finding it hard to see someone that can do it. Those welders keep telling me galvanized pipe or something like that which I don't like.


Trying to settle for stainless steel for the railing, but do you know of any better option (maybe cheaper?)

As you can see we can do that for you and others builders/ contractors here can get it done also.

As for the cheaper one l, you can only go for 12mm normal high yield reinforcement but this will looks horrible for stir railings
Better option is to go for square pipe 3/8 or 1/2 for the design then 2” for the top railings
