This is the device that I use which may serve your purpose.

Hello Boss,

I am shopping for this item presently. However, i noticed that most of the ones on AE and Jumia are in mili values, e.g, mA, mAh and Wh, as opposed to yours that is A, Ah and kWh respectively. I am guessing it would still work as yours, only that i would just need to multiply or divide by 100, yea?

Also, i noticed they come in A rating. I have seen one of 50A, 100A and even 300A. I remember the P=IV formular from my Physics lessons, where P is power, I is current and V is volts. Relating them, i am guessing that the more A rating the device has, the more the watt loads it can read without going dysfunctional. Am i in correct? Should i base my final buying decision on the basis of high A rating?

Kindly advise

Thanks!

Partial contact over time, exposure to the elements, wires can short out with time, how? village people! my brother, we are talking of fire at the end of the day.

come to think of it, Why must u chop it off in the first place self? angry
I asked an installer who said he always chops it off because :
1. Plugging them is tedious
2. Plugging them will prevent you from knowing if there is actual contact or not.
3.weather elements may affect the mc4 and they lose contact in future.
4. Tapping them properly after cutting gives him that reaasurance that all is in contact.
5. That is the most practicable way as one cannot be sure of the quality of the MC4. grin

Buy the highest rating, at least you can't go wrong with higher rating. Also I think the mAh is just picture.

but some are complaining of the customs fee on aliexpress too

Custom fees on AliExpress items is a 50-50 thing. You may or may not be asked to pay. I have never paid custom fee on any item although my orders have all been items of low weight. I think phones and anything very weighty, attracts the attention of the custom officers.
But then again, the custom fees collected at Nipost office is even suspicious. Aren't payments to government agencies supposed to be made through remita for it to enter the TSA?

Duties are mostly charged in my case but it ranges from 200 to 1k max. I don't know how post office would remit that money to customs but they claim it's custom charges.

These are not custom charges but normal handling charges based on the weight of your package, if it were custom charges you would get an invoice or will be asked to pay for it at the airport before clearance. grin

up till today, no reply and it has been like that ever since. imagine buying something worth 2,640 and using over 5k

how gross!

With this nonsense, Jumia Global will lose patronage and become redundant, leaving the with the regular Jumia Nigeria.

1. Tedious yes, but the pros outweighs that con. The tediousness is what guarantees the tight and waterproof connection.

2. The male-female configuration ensures there is always a tight slide-in fit. It is always a tight fit which te installer can further confirm with his meter if in doubt.

3. The solar panel is rated for 25 yrs, so also are the components that come with it. I've seen MC4s that has been in service for 6 yrs still maintain their tight and waterproof fit, not weather smitten or smouldered save a little fading of the black colour of the plastic to know that it can still go for another 10 yrs or so.

In contrast, use of plain wires that I did for small panels that didn't come with MC4s has shown me the unreliability of that method. With alternating exposure to rain and sun, the insulating tapes over time slowly lose their adhesion and unwraps thereby exposing the conductors which then turn green with corrosion and smoulders with exposure to the elements. Before you know it, you'll be climbing the roof every 2 or 3 years to maintain contacts. Although I noticed that hiding such taped connections behind/under the panel away from the elements tend to delay failure by as much as 2 years.

4. That taping fails much later from the explanation in 3.

5. Quality panels will come with quality components, the MC4 included. Even 2nd tier panels don't do bad in MC4s, though the wires may not be as thick gauge as their first tier counterparts.

Nigerian handymen need to drop this belief that they need to make modifications when such is not scientifically backed up. It is similar to they telling you that you will need to "permanent" the radiator fan of your imported tokunbo vehichle because according to them, the weather here is hotter. I experimented on that notion 12 yrs ago. Two vehicles, same type and model, bought at the same type. Against their recommendation to permanent the fans on both vehicle, I decided to do only one. Within 5 years of use, I've had to change the radiator fans of the modified one twice while the one with
the on-off cycle preserved is still going strong 12 yrs after according to reports from the new users.

It's due to intellectual lazyness and not questioning ideas.

But it's also with inverter compressor, right?

219L should be okay for personal/home use. If it's inverter type, then you should look forward to seeing around 60 watts to 80 watts consumption on it as opposed to 110w/115w on the regular compressor.

379L is good too. it even seems the 319L is not even enough anymore for contents sold in the shop. I should know that this Oliver-Twist-wants-more attitude cost money jàre.

Eventually went for the turbo of the 379 with inverter compressor. So far so good

What do you think of the LG inverter microwave? Is it really worth it? If output is about 1250W, what is inverter about ?

Mine was about 800k that finished every every but that's with 4 to 5 months waiting period. For CC I suggest 80A above and as to panels it really depends on your concurrent loads but anything from 8 units of 380w will be a good start

Thanks for the elaborate and enlightening response but can you do a large connection without joining wires? E. G an array of 3S5P panels of 370W.

One installer said "I have to peal the insulator so as to join the series and parallel connections. Its just pealing the insulator to join the wires, I won't be cutting them off. ".
Not sure how true this is because this was after i insisted that the MC4 should not be cut off.

As to why hee no buy plenty, good question but has he been able to get a buyer for the ones he bought? So the thing is that it's not attractive to invest so much in lithium and there is no serious buyers on ground. Our people just dey waka pass angry may God bless our hustle o
