But look at it from this angle.

Apparently, Akwa Ibom is trying to make itself the sports capital of Nigeria. I'm not a fan of sport so I don't know if it's a worthwhile investment.

In the US, many of their states specialize in one thing. For example, Las Vegas is the capital of gambling, california is the tech capital. Even pornography has it's capital; Los Angeles.

But then, stadiums can't exist in the air. There needs to be good roads to the stadiums, security for sport tourists, potable water. Also, the indigenes must be living quite well so they won't be begging tourists or become prostitutes.

Nothing like this in south west..hmmm.!

And there is no single staduim in the SE. This is very shameful that SE has no single stadium.

I wonder what our governors are doing. Wike built a world class in Rivers, Dixkson built in Bayelsa, Obasike built in Edo, Okowa built in Delta.

Shame on SE governors

The Old Uyo township Stadium which has a 10,000 seating capacity is also Undergoing renovation and the turf is being laid by one of Nigeria's finest indigenous turf masters monimichelle LTD , who did the Enyimba and Bayelsa Stadium Turf.

When completed Akwa Ibom will have 4 FIFA rated stadiums spread evenly in the 3 senatorial district with Uyo the state capital having two.
this will set the stage for the State football league which is in the works.
