Won't I have problem selling all at once

I would have chosen Mile12 but a lot of criminals are there posing as market agents
What problem will that be,don't forget you are into a perishable food.
Mile12 is good also oyingbo
There are several ways to sell it though
You can also think of selling to these modern malls like jara, spar etc
People hardly go to market nowadays there are some that turned it to business by going on behalf on others.
These people buy from farm direct traveling long distance let's say osun ondo to get these foods for cheap
If you can supply these kind of people also the better.

I don't want to have problem with marketing

If you sell to those large markets... Your money won't exceed 48hrs... But those other mini markets that rely on Mile12 can spend days and weeks before paying you

If I can see a good agent at Mile12... Then I'm good... I've seen the one of vegetables but he's not into Plantains

If u r venturing into agriculture......pls try and understand the nature of its product .....Agricultural products are commodities, very bulky and command low prices with minimal processing............

For we the iPhone generation, it's really hard to grasp this fact

It's better to approach agriculture with cautious optimism

There is no learning curve joor. Anyone who is serious will import the necessary expatriate management and specialized manpower from India at the beginning.

These small small farmers are not the one who will move agriculture forward in Nigeria. They can't take us anywhere. We need people and corporations who are ready to do agriculture on a large scale, who can afford the necessary mechanization and processing equipment and will farm land in thousands of hectares. Those small farmers will then be employed on these large farms and be paid salaries. Only the economies of scale alone will be able to bring down costs. Someone farming on 2000 hectares will produce at a lower cost per unit than someone farming on less than half hectare. Small farmer will buy bag of fertilizer at N5000 from middlemen because he's buying in small quantities. Big farmer will buy at N3000 direct from manufacturer because he's buying in hundreds of trailers. Such large farms will more productive as they will be able to afford the necessary seeds and fertilizers and best farm practices. This will solve the problem of small Nigerian farmers yielding 1 ton per hectare when their counterparts abroad are doing 8 tons per hectare.

The way we look for people to invest billions in factories is the same way we need people to invest billions in farming. Or at best, cooperatives can be formed, where a group of small farmers or just ordinary investors can pull land and funds together to form a company underwhich they will be employees earning salaries monthly and then dividends . If 5000 people pull N1Million each, that is N5B. Bank loan can be taken from bank of agriculture to make it up to N12-15B. Invest all this in a single sizeable rice farm with a rice mill of good capacity, and a plant to convert the remaining bran into animal feed or bran oil. Or invest that into a single cattle or poultry farm and tell me whether your products will not be cheaper and of better quality. One can even start taking advantage of the weak currency and start exporting since such company will be able to produce to high quality standards required by developed countries. Not to expect illiterate 2 plots farmers to export yam to Europe that will be returned due to poor quality. Is it Fulani herdsmen that will export beef or milk? Can they process beef properly to EU standards? Can they pasteurize milk at ultra-high temperatures and package it aseptically?
Bros, how far the money below for fit go with this your suggestion? Make we know how much we need to de search for.

This is not about Dino or any politician, the fact is 80% of us would do the same or similar if we could afford it.
Senator Dino Melaye just launched his Lamborghini Aventandor Roadstar convertible 2020. 50th Anniversary model. This is 4 of 100 ever made and it’s $1 Million = N460,000,000 before clearing.

*If you don't know how you are blessed, you will think your father's farm is worse than your friend father's farm.*

$1 is ₦500 and so what?
Let me elucidate from my little experience. Can anyone in the US use $1 for breakfast? No!
But in Nigeria, ₦500 will give you breakfast and lunch.

Majority of people's monthly house rent (self contained apartment) in the USA is $1,000 and above... and that is your own 2 year's rent!

Have you ever paid for insurance before? Insurance in the US is $280 and that is almost ₦100,000 monthly.

When last did you pay monthly phone bills? I pay almost ₦40,000 monthly and if I don't, they are going to block my SIM. Your own MTN can be there for months without recharge.

When last did you work on Saturday and Sunday? This I do compulsorily and on regular basis.

*Don't get me wrong, the US is better than Nigeria, depending on which angle you are viewing it.*

Do you want to hear the truth?

*Many people in Nigeria live a more fulfilling life compared to their counterparts abroad.*

Forget about all the packaging on social media and give credit to the good life you are living.

Do you know why Nigerians living in the US always rush back quickly whenever they come home visiting? Because bills are counting and elongated absence (freedom) will put their lives in jeopardy.

If you, as a black person, attempt to emulate the whites, they will kneel on your neck.

Apart from Congo, no citizens in the entire universe enjoy life to the fullest than Nigerians.

You are abundantly blessed but you don't know until you get visa and relocate abroad, that is when you will know that your 8-hour job in Nigeria with free weekend is awoof.
With 8-hour job abroad, you can only pay bills, you need other 6 to 8 hours jobs to save for the future and plan your life.

The truth is that the grass is green everywhere, it's lack of vision greed of our leaders/politicians and the skewed religious practices (which placed emphasis on miracles) that ascended Nigeria onto a myopic tentacle of complete standstill.

*Always thank God wherever you may find yourself. Nigeria is good*

I agree to always give God thanks and that Nigeria has good in it. But then, we don't need to twist obvious facts to sell our narrative.

I addressed a similar post on the thread some pages back. You can check out my reply then as it addresses most of the issues raised.

The post may seem brilliant on face value but it's bereft of critical thinking...

I'd ask a few questions based on reasons given on the post to show where it's lacking.

1. Food- if food was relatively cheaper and more affordable in Nigeria, why do millions of Nigerian children die yearly from hunger and malnutrition? Something which would virtually not kill any child in the US or similar countries

2. Rent- same also, if housing was cheaper in Nigeria, why do we have lower quality houses and more involuntarily homeless people than those countries?

3. Insurance-
I'm not sure if this is about home or car insurance but still applies. If insuring vehicles in the U.S was so expensive, why have our rich been so reduced to buying accidented US cars, feeling fly and calling them brand new? How are citizens of such countries able to buy so much new cars and dump them on us?

4. Phone bills-
If phone bills were so expensive for them, why do they buy new phones, use and ship them to us who buy as 'London used'. Have you looked at the average data consumption of an American home? How are they able to afford using such volume of data for streaming e.t.c while most Nigerians do not even have a smartphone talk more of home wifi.
Also note, that access to data/internet connectivity is now compared to the effect of electricity in the 18th and 19th century and how it drove development.

5. Working conditions-
I don't even know what to say on this. Nigeria has little to non-existent labour laws. It's obvious the writer has not experienced the other side.
In Nigeria, your boss can slave you, make you work any amount of added time without paying you extra, delay your salary and even sack you without notice. I can write an epistle on this... It's not comparable in any way. Except if you are a 'typical government worker' in Nigeria.

Like I said, Nigeria has it's good and bad parts same as any country but we don't need to twist facts to sell a lie

More rubbish comparisions.
Responding to this is a waste of time.
I am beginning to wonder whether there really is any hope at all for Nigeria if people think this way, comparing a country that offers its citizens virtually nothing to any other country that does.

Just finished reading up like 20 pages wey I owe this thread.

Mathematically, one pain cancels out one gain but in the real life that is not how it works. Would you prefer to wait for admission for 5 years and get a job immediately you graduate or gain admission immediately and wait for 5 years before you get a job?

Growing up we were told Science class is better than Commercial/arts class. Theoretically, they are right, but it's all about what you do with it folks.

Not all science students are successful and not all commercial students are broke.

This kind of conversation extends to the issue of remaining in Nigeria or fleeing abroad. It is unique to everyone. The same people that complain heavily about Lagos traffic and drainage problems no gree leave Lagos go Ibadan or Abuja. That's the way it also works.

There is no absolute best answer for everyone.

And forget all those kidnapping and health jargon, majority of people (especially in their 20's - 30's) leave for economic reasons.

There is high unemployment in Nigeria, and even if you were hardworking, there is a dearth of opportunities.

That said, there exists a small percentage that wants to leave because of other secondary reasons like security, health, passport e.t.c but a huge chunk wan japa because of money.

The same way young boys leave the East to come to Lagos to hustle is the exact same way people leave Nigeria to the abroad. I once worked in Kano and had people tell me they can't relocate to Kano because of security and so on. I was shocked to see them resume when my company gave some of them an offer.

Na money everybody they find. From 2face to Burna Boy to Davido, even as they seek international appeal, are all predominantly based in Nigeria.

Every other thing is secondary, don't let anyone bobo you on a faceless forum.

Do whichever makes sense for you, but don't force your opinion on other people.

Let those that want to stay, stay.
Let those that want to go, go.
Let those that are abroad and want to come, come.

Treasury bills has always been there. The reason it looks silence or not in existence is because the rate has crashed. Currently one year tenor is around 2.8% right now. You can look the way of mutual funds especially the ones in the fixed income category. Call or chat me on 08181057319 for more.

Nigeria is good*
rubbish. It's people like you that try to discourage people from coming so that they won't come and enjoy what u re enjoying. Na lie joor

"Let those that want to stay, stay.
Let those that want to go, go.
Let those that are abroad and want to come, come."

Gbam.

This has been my take anywhere i see the argument of abroad vs stay.

More rubbish comparisions.
Responding to this is a waste of time.
I am beginning to wonder whether there really is any hope at all for Nigeria if people think this way, comparing a country that offers its citizens virtually nothing to any other country that does.
It offers nothing but gives room for me to get everything, I mean everything compared to a country that keeps you on your toes and average despite being lazy. My country you have to be sharp to edge out and lazy to slump. Please what's the cost of Dino's latest car, how many people but it in the US? How many people buried equivalent of 800m naira and allowed it spoil in the US? I don't know of you, I have traveled to UK and lives in naija, I know what am comparing. Be sincere, if you are abroad, how may times do you visit your family in naija in a year, that's luxury, you can't frequent your love ones because you can't afford it. Don't tell me you don't love them. People in naija travel frequently to and fro. As a matter of fact, I have never spent 2 weeks abroad, its boring over there with their low quality and ecpensive beer diluted by weather.

I be Uyo boy, school within AKS, lived in AKS, working in AKS, never spent 2 weeks outside AKS. I am at home and having fun. Everything you are looking for abroad, I have in Uyo. Look within and make it worth it. Like I keep saying, I have met wretched folks abroad and stinkingly rich folks in Naija. So many are stranded abroad and can't come home. If you have opportunity abroad, go for it but don't believe it's greener once you board a plane.
