Today I'll find myself doing what is right, tomorrow would be worst.

How do I tend to increase my overzealousness in serving God for a lifetime?

Please, how do I go about administering a longterm relationship with the Lord?

I am averagely consistent in praying.

But then, I'll find myself doing what is not right in the sight of God.

I suggest you first make sure you have a good understanding of what it is that God wants from you before you pledge. So many more out there who have no clue who God really is, what He really wants from them and what He says you must do. All they do is what their Pastors/Prophets/GOs etc. have said about God and nothing else. Many of these men have never themselves experienced God in truth, nor do they know God, even with all their popularity with the folks.

I suggest you do what Jesus Christ said you need to do in order to become worthy of being His follower first. Another suggestion is that you begin by reading through the Book of Matthew. Read it as many times as it may take for the message of the New Covenant to sink in. Become like a Child in your thinking, as Jesus Christ commanded as you learn of His other commandments and begin working on obeying them one at a time. God is sure to honor your obedience.

Pray with worship songs. (you can play worship songs, empowering songs with your Bluetooth Speaker or Home theatre to keep you focus), pray with that powerful music, pray with psalms and tell the Lord of Host that which you need. There is Power from Above.

Be submitted under a church and.under a Pastor. Lack of accountability can run your zeal down and with many distractions. Every church has a structured system for spiritual growth. Join a house fellowship or cell . Be accountable. Thats a safe ground to start. Be under a pastoral authority.

Hebrews 13:17
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you
.

The rest is your own personal relationship with the lord. This has to do with your personal communion fellowship with God in prayer always . Daily devotional , study of the Bible. . If you do all these and you're committed in a church . You will never lack in zeal .

]2 Peter 1:8
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ..

Study the Bible daily and other Christian materials. And don't miss church services .

Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

1 Peter 2:2
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby
:

Lastly live to serve God . Share your faith with others . Im sure once you get involved with a local church you will naturally be on your way up in seevuce and leadership. Based on the church structure. If you’re not involved with a local church . You will be an island . The enemy goes for those who are straying behind from others

These outline from the book ABC of follow up helped me as a growing Christian.

A - ASSURANCE of salvation
B- BIBLE daily study
C- Communion Personal daily prayer
D- DEPENDANCE : Faith walk with God
E-
F- FELOWSHIP : Commitment in local chrc
G- Go ye" .. share your faith with others

I'm trying to remember what "E stand for

More grace
This is a sign that you have outgrown your present state. Your soul thirst for higher.

There are people who prefer to buy ready made cloth and there are those who prefer to buy the material and see it according to their size. First they measure themselves using a meter rule then they cut off some pieces of material from the one bought in the market.

As we grow older, our body size increases. We need bigger tops. We do not keep forcing the smaller clothes on ourself. We will either feel uncomfortable or the cloth will get torn. We simply discard it or give it to our younger one and go get another cloth that fits us.

Unfortunately ,we do not adapt the same concept to our belief. As a kid, we are told what to believe, vwe do not choose them because we are too young to make decision. As we grow older, we begin to outgrow our religion. Certain belief no longer appeal to us . We have more questions than answer. We are told to rely on faith. This is the way the religion want to tie is down to it . Like a teacher who loves his student so much he does not want her to get promoted. He threatened his student with punnishnent to prevent his moving to next level. Such love cannot be in the best interest of the child. Religion threaten it’d adherent with hell to keep them glued together.

This is a sign that we need to try another cloth.we do not owe our religion any form of loyalty. We need to let go in search of better belief. Stagnant water attracts mosquitoes. One who stays so long in one belief would have a retarded manner of thinking.

We can go to the library or internet and read alternative religion practice.we can choose one that suits us and explore.Trying a new religion is a faster way for behavioral Change.

Every new religion sprung up from a founder who was not comfortable with existing religion of his time. Bobby Henderson invented pasterfaranism. Buddhism broke out as a social protest against Hinduism caste system. Jesus deviated from Judaism. Each religion was created out of dissatisfaction wilh existing status quo.

Each of the founder created a religion that fit their personalities. As long as you know yourself, you can create your religion that suit whom you are. The involve eradicating the part of the beliefs that do not appeal to your values., authentic self.Jesus valued forgiveness ahead of revenge. Love became his central theme. Buddha focused on how to stop world suffering . Detachment was his answer .

Each one of us can focus on any part of the world and try to make it better .we must not go about preaching our new religion to others . Living it in our daily activities is Paramount. As long as we keep wearing the garment of another founder, we will not be truely comfortable.we remain inauthentic. What fits A cannot fit B. This leads to hypocrisy

You would not be Promoted to the next set of lessons unless you have passed this one.

First of all, do not condemn yourself neither allow any one to do so. You are in the process of warring state i.e struggling with addiction. It's a war between your strong old flesh and newly rebirth spirit, but your continuous striving will invite He that is stronger.

Despite all the advices above, you need the Holy Spirit to identify and reveal the root/source of the war. Could be generational curse, household curse, other curse, evil foundation, marine spirit, soul ties, evil initiation, many others. They are mostly the sources of rising and falling of spiritual, the worst of them all is marine attack and evil foundation. They never let go easily, reason I earlier stated never to condemn yourself but deal with lack spiritual of knowledge i.e lack of spiritual identification. These things also kills anointing and ministry if they are not deeply addressed aggressively.

Having applied all the above advices, go for aggressive deliverance. I'm telling you the secret of spiritual liberty and breakthrough..

How do I tend to increase my overzealousness in serving God for a lifetime?

Please, how do I go about administering a longterm relationship with the Lord?

Hi there.

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ
Ephesians 4:11-15 (NKJV)

Without spiritual growth, it is really hard for any believer to please the Lord. Believers who remain spiritual children always struggle with the flesh and stay stuck in concerns of sanctification. Spiritual growth enables us to grow in sanctification as well and increasingly frees us from moral struggles so that we can actually be of positive use to the Lord. That is the gist of the above passage.

So, I would advise that anyone who really wants to please God should diligently seek out a worthy pastor-teaching ministry from which they can learn everything that the Bible teaches in a systematic, that is, an organized manner. Without a clear, solid framework of true biblical teaching, as you see above, we remain children who are vulnerable to false teachers and false teaching. We don't amount to much for God that way.

Not every person or ministry out there that styles itself a pastor/teacher is actually anything of the kind, as you see in that passage too. Many people or ministries out there are actually predators looking for vulnerable Christians to prey upon. So, the Lord Jesus gave us a way to keep safe in our search and to identify the right one when we come upon it:

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Matthew 7:15-20 (NKJV)

33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
Matthew 12:33-35 (NKJV)

We call the above the fruit test. Although it is often interpreted entirely to mean an investigation of a given pastor's behavior in accordance with Galatians 5:19-23, that is not really what the Lord was saying. Certainly, a true pastor-teacher should behave more along the lines of Galatians 5:22-23 than along the lines of Galatians 5:19-21 - in fact, if they do not, it is proof that they are not yet ready for ministry - but nobody is or will ever be morally perfect in this life, as James 3:2 and 1 John 1:8-2:1 teach, so the passage in Matthew 7 does not speak wholly to behavior. Rather, as the one in Matthew 12 shows, the fruit in question is what the pastor-teacher actually says that the Bible teaches, that is, the fruit is their actual teaching.

How then can we know that a teaching is good fruit or bad if we need spiritual growth to become able to escape false teaching? By reading the Bible.

9 How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
Psalms 119:9 (NKJV)

If you know what the Bible actually says, even when you don't really understand what it says, it will be very hard for anyone to deceive you about it. The Bible is the security that God has given to us to protect us from false teachers and false prophets. So, if you are diligent in reading it, it will help you identify the wolves in sheep's clothing and the true shepherds that the Lord has put among us to help us grow spiritually.

It is also argued that we don't need teachers to understand the Bible because of 1 John 2:27. I believe that Ephesians 4:11-15 is clear that we do. 1 John 2:27 is misunderstood by many and twisted out of shape by others who make that argument. What it actually says is that the people to whom John was writing already knew the Gospel, so they didn't need anyone to tell them what it was anymore, so they were not to fall prey to the antichrists that were teaching a "new" false Gospel that Jesus Christ never came in the flesh. That was the point of that whole first letter of his, namely, that Jesus was truly Human just as He was truly God. Those who had heard that and believed it did not need anyone to tell them anything else. Obviously, if they really did not need any teaching, then John wouldn't be writing to them at all.

So, in summary, I encourage you to seek out a worthy pastor-teaching ministry and submit to its teaching in order to grow spiritually and become able to control the urges of your flesh more effectively and also be able to do what God calls us all to do: to grow spiritually (that is, keep seeking the whole Truth of the Bible, believing it, and obeying it) and help others to do the same with what unique spiritual gifts the Lord has given to us. This is what the Lord will reward us or rebuke us for when He judges the Church at His Return.

Cheers.

Don't stop regardless.

Keep at it and pray til you get to the point of spiritual equilibrium where it's hard to stop. And also try and add some fasting to it.

Also study the Word of Jesus which gives life, and follow whatever it instructs, and watch yourself gradually transform into what God intends for you to be.

God bless.

Obedience?
Sir, please expatiate.
Obedience if the key as far as God's covenants are concerned.

Deuteronomy 4 vs 1-2 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. “Now, Israel, listen to the laws and to the commands that I teach you. Obey them and you will live. Then you can go in and take the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.
2. You must not add to what I command you. And you must not take anything away. You must obey the commands of the Lord your God that I have given you.
It is the key to the Old Covenant

Deuteronomy 6 vs 1-3(ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. “These are the commands, the laws, and the rules that the Lord your God told me to teach you. Obey these laws in the land that you are entering to live in.
1. You and your descendants must respect the Lord your God as long as you live. You must obey all his laws and commands that I give you. If you do this, you will have a long life in that new land.
1. Israelites, listen carefully and obey these laws. Then everything will be fine with you. You will have many children, and you will get the land filled with many good things[a]—just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised.
And He made sure to let the people know of this then,

Deuteronomy 8 vs 1-2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. “You must obey all the commands that I give you today, because then you will live and grow to become a great nation. You will get the land that the Lord promised to your ancestors.
2. And you must remember the entire trip that the Lord your God has led you through these 40 years in the desert. He was testing you. He wanted to make you humble. He wanted to know what is in your heart. He wanted to know if you would obey his commands.
3. He humbled you and let you be hungry. Then he fed you with manna—something you did not know about before. It was something your ancestors had never seen. Why did the Lord do this? Because he wanted you to know that it is not just bread that keeps people alive. People’s lives depend on what the Lord says.
4. These past 40 years, your clothes did not wear out, and your feet did not swell.
5. You must remember that the Lord your God teaches and corrects you as a father teaches and corrects his son.
And it remains the key as far as Jesu Christ is concerned. Obedience of the commandments of Jesus Christ(the New Covenant), all 46 or so of them.

Matthew 7 vs 24-29(ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24. “Whoever hears these teachings of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.
25. It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not fall because it was built on rock.
26. “Whoever hears these teachings of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
27. It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. And it fell with a loud crash.”
28. When Jesus finished speaking, the people were amazed at his teaching.
29. He did not teach like their teachers of the law. He taught like someone who has authority.
According to Jesus Christ,

John 14 vs 23-24 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
23. Jesus answered, “All who love me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them. My Father and I will come to them and live with them.
24. But anyone who does not love me does not obey my teaching. This teaching that you hear is not really mine. It is from my Father who sent me.

Thank you sir

Cheers.

Indeed, this is a powerful piece

Thanks Sir

Don't stop regardless.

Keep at it and pray til you get to the point of spiritual equilibrium where it's hard to stop. And also try and add some fasting to it.

Also study the Word of Jesus which gives life, and follow whatever it instructs, and watch yourself gradually transform into what God intends for you to be.

God bless.

Thank you sir

Obedience if the key as far as God's covenants are concerned.

It is the key to the Old Covenant

And He made sure to let the people know of this then,

And it remains the key as far as Jesu Christ is concerned. Obedience of the commandments of Jesus Christ(the New Covenant), all 46 or so of them.

According to Jesus Christ,

I now understand the obedience concept, thank you very much sir

How do I tend to increase my overzealousness in serving God for a lifetime?

Please, how do I go about administering a longterm relationship with the Lord?
The Christian race is like a marathon. On the way, you'll many times be tempted to stop: but only those who persevere can hope to complete the race and win the prize.

To help yourself
1. Study the word of faith on a personal and corporate levels.
2. Meditate on the word and come to program your mind to do the word with respect to living right with God
3. Learn to fight in the Spirit using the tools of prayer. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood
4. Invest your time in serving God with your spiritual gifts and talents especially within your church
5. Do not neglect the fellowship of brethren. Iron sharpens iron

Finally, you need to keep your spiritual environment clean. You can't be feeding yourself rotten and contaminated food and not experience diarrhoea and dysentry.
You can't be watching porn, reading erotic books, listening to non edifying music and claim that your treatment is not working

All you need now is to IDENTIFY the true Christian group so that when you're in their midst you can start imitating those who are worshiping God in spirit and truth {Hebrew 13:7} you're just going through the normal process every sheep belonging to Christ do pass. We will not feel comfortable until we're certain that we're doing things right.
As a sincere and honest hearted person, if you're not in the midst of the congregation of the true God, you won't feel contented {Psalms 1:1} you will always feel that something is missing somehow, that's what you're experiencing now!
So what you need is to IDENTIFY the group God is using to dispense spiritual food in this end time, of course they're also imperfect humans like everyone else but because Jesus is in there midst {Matthew 28:20} you will notice the fruit of God's holy spirit permeating their gathering! Galatians 5:22-23 compare to Matthew 7:16-18

God bless you! smiley
