Colin will soon be phasing out we need 4 full backs
Ehzibue and ebuehi are the trusted RB while sanusi and aina should take over the LB roles

O pari we need quality players not mediocre and pretenders

The phasing out will be gradually..
No need to rush..

The new players to be called up will first have to prove that they are better than the current players..

Take Aina for instance,he was called up to displace Echijele at LB prior to the world cup.. I don't think he tried in the pre world cup frendlies,so he was dropped... Idowu on d other hand scored a goal and made the list until he was exposed as a whack player...

Na small small...

I have argued with a lot of analyst about this ekong position is not safe, in our attack now the impetus behind the invitation of the strikers is Europe top 5 league I see desser and onuachu as a pretender the likes of maja, moffi and akodare are the main deal.
There will be an evolution in the SE that the likes of ekong might phase out unless he moves to a team in Europe 5 league and play regularly I wonder how ekong will play when we have the likes of jordan, kelvin, tosin, udokhai playing for Hertha Berlin ,hoffenhim,Fulham,Augsburg respectively how on earth will these players be dropped for a Watford player second division
My man na Super eagles performance go determined o,forget all these talks. If Ekong continue giving out good performance no wahala.

As a matter of fact with our CB depth now,any sloppy performance from anyone is bye bye to the team.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, non of our current players can cement himself in the England squad, Ndidi and Osimhen might just make it occasionally but would struggle to be a key member of the team, but that doesn’t mean they’re a better team, one interesting thing about this current eagles is the dynamics at which they play as a team, it’s like a synergy of average players forming a great team, just like what we saw in Leeds Utd,the Aston villa vs Liverpool, Lyon of last season and Atalanta
I perfectly understand your point, I was merely responding to a question Komekn asked, I was basing my response off how well most of the established SE players have performed in the Eagles shirt.

All these CBs are much the aforementioned are 9 whereas we only need 4

Yes...
The new incoming guys have to prove that they are better than the current ones to stand a chance...

As far as I'm concerned, nobody is displacing Ekong anytime soon... I can't say for Omeruo and Balogun...

Rohr should grow some balls and drop these defenders broda omerou, awaziem, balogun should be dropped ASAP

He has dropped Idowu, Echeijile, Shehu, Ogu and others so balls is not the problem

I think Balogun and Awaziem are still important to the team

I respect Southgate..but he is kinda clueless and he is not a tactical genius like the media hype him and fourth position is not impetus for those kain England should be in the top 3 best team in the world they have the quality.

Are you saying France, Croatia, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and Germany are inferior teams compared to England?

You overrate England squad, Harry Winks is a regular there and holds no candle to Ndidi, Ebuehi can comfortably wreste right back position with TAA and Kieran Trippier, Osimhen is at par or better than all Kane's backups, even Ward Prose starts for England and Aribo is much better than him

We are drifting towards a period when all Nigerian starting 11 would be foreign born.

The NFF really needs to step up and boost football development at the local level.

Is there any problem with that if they are better than what we have at home?

What do you have to say about the French team full of foreigners?

Timing is most important here, we called those players when we had no options, now we have 4 central defenders playing first division football why should we lower our standards?

It's true we still have defenders playing second division football but they'll still be phased out as soon as we can get our hands on first division defenders

Fact

What do you have to say about the French team full of foreigners?

The French team is filled with French players of African heritage born in France and are a product of French football system...
The French are just reaping the rewards for their own hardwork ..
The reverse is the case for Nigeria...we are reaping another country's hard work...
Our sports administrators need to do more...
Football, and sports in general is one very important sector that can reduce poverty and crime rates among youths in this country...

You are just tryin to diss komekn for no reason because he likes iorfa

When Balogun Dey Wigan Dem call am so if iorfa is playing well in the championship why can’t they call him ? Even adaribioyo many of you even want him called in the championship but iorfa na no

Balogun wey dem no call when e Dey chop bench for Brighton na em you Dey call main stay ,be deceiving your self ,Rohr even had to prefer semi and ekong

Can you compare Turkish division 2 to England or Spain ? How many players did they call from there compared to the championship, abi no be same championship dem Dey call etebo from but because person name na iorfa he doesn’t stand a chance

I guess ajayi was a main stay in the team while being called from the championship

Talk ball and remove sentiment oga

You are not making any single sense

Stop intentionally twisting the conversation to suit you.

Ajayi debuted for us in the championship when we were low on options. Our team was filled with carpenters.

Now, not so much. We all cried here when Ekong was going to championship because we don't want second division player in the squad.

In the team, we're not as short on options as we are when Ajayi debuted. There are respected war generals, you don't push them out away immediately you see a better player. You also don't expect Omeruo to be getting call ups from second division while we have Jordan and Felix, not discounting Kevin.

Again, Ekong, Balogun, Omeruo have not played in second division all their lives. They have played in first divisions, in fact, we didn't have any player in second division last season. All our defenders played top flight.

We are not as short on options as we were when Ajayi debuted, why should we call Dom?
Wasn't it here last season we all were excited and praying for West Brom to get promoted to EPL? Because we want our players to be playing in the first division.
Wasn't it here we all believed Omeruo would leave Leganes and go to a first even struggling division club?
Wasn't it here we were complaining about Ekong going to play in the championship?

All of a sudden, you want us to call up a player who has never seen the light of the day inside any top division. If he's so good, and considering his English passport, he should get himself a move.

Y'all should drop dragging us backwards. We can not be praying for our players to get promoted to first division, and then because it suits you guys, you're asking us to call up one guy comfortable playing in the second division. angry angry angry angry angry

Oga World Cup qualifiers don pass Abeg ,any small thing Balogun na our best defender for World Cup qualifiers ,no be same Balogun omeruo send go bench for afcon ? And the one he managed to play he flopped self but we just overlook am

Lol suddenly no more division 2 players because a certain iorfa plays there but when adaribioyo was there e Dey needed grin

Rotherham was fighting relegation in the championship then when ajayi was invited nah cheesy

Championship just start but you don already know who go fight relegation grin

I hail your wisdom

The person that refuses to think for him self is lead here for all to see just because of double standards

The bolded is the point,as at the time he was invited,we had less option in defence, but now, options are springing up,Udokhai,Torunarigha,Adarabioyo are all said to have considered a switch of allegiance, some have even started the process already (Torunarigha) and all this players play first division football so what then do we need a division two players for again?

Preach brother!!

Because Ekong moved to the championship,we should now be looking at the championship for options in our team when we have guys in top division leagues...

That Iorfa that they are talking about self,if he is so good,he won't be spending all his career in second division leagues...he is 25 already!
