It's because north is d most backward in Nigeria.
The South you mentioned, when it comes to civilization, come and check.
Moreover, we cherish our freedoms here. Not that one Emir will be controlling our life.
Una bloody Southerners are civilized and yet Police dey tow una with no recourse to your fundamental human rights and they can't try such in the 'most backward' North. Goan get sense!!!

Even though going out in bum shorts is not something I would advise my own daughter to do, arresting her is misplacement of priorities of these security people.

Well I guess everyday news of arrests shows na SHARIA GOVERNMENT we dey in now, not DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT.

Some people think dressing indecently in western countries is a norm sad sad sad? You can't work in most Companies and Schools in Europe and dress like a Prostitute. Don't think white people do not have moral codes, okay. You need to travel out from time to time. After the age of 18, most ladies in Europe and America change the way they dress. They only wear bum shorts to private parties or in their home or on beaches where they put on bikinis. Badly dressed ladies in Europe are mostly from lower class families. In the UK, proper dressing is enforced in 95% of the Companies and Schools there. You would be politely told to go and dress properly if you come to work in anyhow clothing and shoes. Tattoos are not even allowed in some offices in Britain. Many elite ladies from rich families dress properly in the white men's countries. Cheers.

There's no justification for what has been done. I once stopped an armed policeman from harassing a young man I knew not. The country is more like a jungle and it will only get worse if we don't stand up for something. I am able to pay my bills and live a bit comfortable but what about the other millions of Nigeria who are living in extreme poverty?
Sowore called for a revolution but he was being attacked left, right and center, it is time to come to the you realization that a revolution is what the country needs to be better.
If you too want your sisters and aunties to be nakked on the streets, go to America. Six States over there just approved that women can go out topless without blouse or bra, just skirt/shorts and their bouncing or flat breasts. Good for you and them, but it shall never happen in Nigeria.

They look extremely sexy. I bet the officer was a married man. She can’t go about assaulting married men’s senses like that. What if a male walked around in a mankini? Na she for first complain.

Its nobody's business if she steps out in bumshorts. The police should be looking out for criminals not harassing women.

She was in a car going for a youth party. She wasn't walking on the main road. Is there any law in Nigeria against bum short? Just because we wanna sound funny and smart at the same time, let's endeavor to attach some level of seriousness into it. This is just wrong by the police
don't encourage evil ...stop shying away from wisdom

indecent dressing is a serious offence just as rape and child abuse

Does your way of dressing determines how ppl will address you?
Does your way of dressing most times affect your actions and ur personality?

The answers to the above questions are YES.
So if ur dressing can have action on ur personality, then, I think you should be arrested when u dress the way that suggests that u are a law breaker.
Mind you, to arrest does not automatically means u hve bn convicted. You need to prove ur innocence and what informed ur mode of dressing. If ur reasons are not strong enough, you may be cautioned or made to pay some fine for that.

We are human beings and under laws. We are not animals.
Everybody enjoys the entertainment from mad man, but no one want the mad man to come from his/her family.
You won't condemn the girl's dressing cos she is not ur sister, wife or girlfriend. Afterall u hv nothing to lose if she wants to go about bn naked.

YES, if there is need for that.
I know that if they arrest u in that kind of dressing, I beliv u will like to show dem that u have every right to dress anyhow u want. So taking u to the station or even locking u up will help reset ur brain to know that u don't have the right to dress anyhow u want when u are in the public.

Just like someone saying that his life is his and he has the right to kill himself. Just pray that they did not catch in that attempt. You will wonder why police should be bothering themselves over ur personal life. By then e go clear for ur eyes say ur life does not ultimately belongs to u alone.

I really did like to hear some of your experiences or others so that i can add them up as a case against police brutality.

This is becoming something else ooo...

Mine was around 11pm i brought a runs girl home, on our way Policr stopped us and searched which was illegal and found condoms with her...las las i paid 3k after telling them about my Uncles who were then Commissioner and DIG respectively.

I gave them the money because i didnt want my uncles to know by midnight i was seen with a girl.

Another incident happened in another state, they stopped our vehicle and someone made a statement, the Policeman asked who said it but nobody answered him. He asked me to come down, i was aggtessive to him and told him he will soon lose his job.
He poured me sand but las las i copied his details and name and forwarded it to my uncles and he was removed because after that day i never saw him again till date
