I saw several videos of the purported protesters provoking security men with guns all in the name of protest... Haba, even the US, UK they're calling on won't allow this nuisance.

Provide the video. You're the only one who's seen this alleged video of protestors with guns

There's no provision for uploading videos on Nairaland, but I have the video of a Policeman killed by the so called protesters day before yesterday. Is there any justification for that? Would you blame the Police if they decide to shoot when they feel threatened?

I also have the video of some of the protesters throwing stones at a Police Armored Personnel Carrier, with an armed Policeman standing by the side.

I have a video of the protesters spitting on armed soldiers, shouting on top of their voice endsars... Haba

Except you're a direct beneficiary, of this endsars, what they're doing is unjustifiable.

I don't stand with #EndSars..I stand with #ReformSars particularly and #ReformtheNigerianPoliceForce..

As e dey go now, the #EndSars protests have been hijacked by Yahoo boys, prostitutes protecting their Yahoo Boy Customers, and even armed Robbers, kidnappers and murderers

I detest SARS Officers for their high-handedness and abuse of power, but these SARS guys are a part of the Police force particularly dreaded by hardened criminals....this is because these criminals know these SARS guys are also hardened crooks themselves and are licensed to act swiftly and ruthlessly to curb crime

You don't cut off your head just because your nose is ailing
SARS as presently constitited have abandoned their primary assignment of apprehending armed robbers..after all SARS means "Special Anti-Robbery Squad...they have now taken or upon themselves to do EFCC's Job of apprehending Yahoo boys abi na suspected Yahoo boys, and have extended that to harassing citezens who make the mistake of appearing fresh, young and have the guts to have laptops and phones on them

That nonsense must stop...but that does not mean SARS should be scrapped..They are an absolutely necesary evil

In the whole mad hysteria which is the #endsars protest, Nigerians forget that there are more deadly police departments like the SACS (Special anti cultism Squad)
IGP X-Squad
Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad .

All these Squads are very joyless and are fully licensed to be as brutal, if not more brutal than the SARS Everyone is shouting about..
If the Police want to be mischievous, they will disband SARS and move all its officers to these other deadly squads for them to continue 'the Lord's Work"

Shebi i have read of a case where Soldiers connived and kidnapped a young boy in Imo State, under the guise that he was being arrested on arrested on suspicion of being a Yahoo Boy..
After kidnapping the young boy and forcing him to pay more than 1million naira to them, they killed the boy, dumped his body in the bush, and made away with his Lexus Es350 car..This happened late last year abi na this year sef..
Because of that, why haven't we called for #EndNigerianArmy?

I still remember how some officers of the same Nigerian Army killed many policemen while aiding the escape of a fugitive kidnapper in Taraba State..

We didn't call for #EndNigerianArmy because of that..

Point is..the fact of the existence of some Renegades in an organisation does not make that organization totally useless or worth discarding..

If the #EndSars protesters are truly serious, let us also end Nigerian Army because of their atrocities as well

Somebody, give this guy a chilled bottle of trophy lager with pepper soup to go along.

I'm neither for nor against this EndSars campaign. But the emboldened is false.

Yes, there are people with bad motives in this EndSars campaign but the fact remains that Nigerian Police as a whole needs a big reform.

A reform so big that it would look like a new NPF was created. A complete rebranding.

We're talking of an agency that has been on auto-pilot for 60 years. No checks, no balances no probings. Just new vehicles and uniforms.

In fact, it starts from the federal government. They should improve these officers' renumeration, facilities, allowances and pension. Then we'll know that any officer that asks for or takes bribe is only being greedy. But subjecting people to barbaric working conditions and expecting them not to seek alternatives is sheer trumpery.

You and I know that the Government has made its position clear that it would reform the SARS but the issue of complete disbandment is off the table... But these people are still pushing for it in spite of this..

That means there is more to it than meet the eyes.

And yes, I'm a direct beneficiary of end sars. Ever since they arrested my friend for going out to buy food. Ever since they once threatened to waste me without justification and nothing will happen.

You know who else are direct beneficiaries of endsars? Jimoh Isiaq, and Kolade Johnson and several innocent young Nigerians like me cut short at the prime of their lives by sars.

For 3 years, they promised to reform but nothing happened. Now, the youths have spoken.

The Nigerian army do not go about abducting innocent people randomly on the street.

The Nigerian army do not move around with pos extorting young Nigerians in exchange for their freedom.

The Nigerian army do not engage in legalized armed robbery like sars.

The Nigerian army are not a rogue arm of the nigeria security force.

Sars have outlived their usefulness. They've over extended their mandates. They have lost legitimacy and are no longer fit for purpose.

Now is the time to end them.
We will keep protesting until this murderous, kidnapping and torturing unit are taken out of our streets.

If you're still expecting Buhari to disband SARS because of the nuisance called ENDSARS protest, then you need to go and borrow sense.

Expressing displeasure with government doesn't have anything to do with every demand satisfied. You protest and demand high to let the concerned know your plights (awarenesses), and that things cannot continue like this. When you demand anything from the govt, let it be an extremely hard demand so that when compromise is eventually made, things get better. There were previous protests, they yielded nothing because of people like you.

From the little you have said, it shows you are part of this country's problems. Imagine that kind of thinking like yours. Imagine you being in one of the elected positions or in police. Half illiterate mindset.

That's true, politicians will always be politicians... But we should be wise enough not to play into their hands..

Buhari is in his second tenure, so he care less about what people think of him..

I however believe that there's a better way to go about these demands than falling into Government's trap.

I equally believe the Government is just waiting to gather as many evidence of provocation as possible before it starts dealing ruthlessly with the protesters..

Same thing happened with Nnamdi Kanu and Sowore, remember?
